| In September of 1997, Coach John Hinkleman started his student teaching at Cardinal City and volunteered to help out with cross country. His training of the team has turned SBHS from one of the worst programs in the country to one that now turns heads. He leads the team daily in chants and runs often running with the team themselves. John Hinkleman is a graduate of UC Riverside and has been teaching social studies for 3 years. John is also the SAL champion Track and Field Coach at Berdoo. |

| In his first year as a Cardinal Cross Country coach but not a stranger to Cardinal long distance Andrew Christopherson (he was an assistant Track Coach in 2000 and 2001) takes over the girl's program. A 1994 Redlands High graduate, Andrew also ran 4 years at Azusa Pacific. Andrew teaches Social studies at a local Junior high school and is known for training the runners very hard! | ||||||||||||||
