Thunder crashed again, shaking the house as I descended the stairs, candle in hand. Lightning filled the dark house with temporary light as thunder quickly followed. Rain drummed loudly on the roof and the windows as the wind howled, creating a ghostly wail to float through the air, chilling my bones.
"Stupid storms," I mutter to myself as I reach the living room where my dinner was getting cold. Sighing, I sat down, the black candle burning as it rests on the coffee table. "Never fails that I lose power."
I began to eat once again, trying to ignore the crashes of thunder and the lightning that would always accompany it. The wind grew stronger; the wails turning into what seemed like moans of pain. It got so loud that I dropped my fork and clamped my hand over my ears, trying to block out the sound. Without warning, I felt something grab the back of my hair and pull hard. A yelp escaped my lips, reaching back to grab at something, but felt nothing. The force pulled on my hair again, harder this time. Warmth trickled down the back of my neck, and I knew I was bleeding.
"Let me go!" I screeched, trying to move. Again, my hair was pulled as blinding pain filled my body and I didn't dare move again. "Wh-what do you want?"
Silence filled the room and I was about to speak again when something touched my bare shoulder. I shrieked in surprise as it felt like someone had dipped me into an ice cold bath. "I want your soul." a voice whispered into my ear, chilling my very heart.
"Yeah, well, you can't have it! I'm not done with it yet!" I replied, trying to sound obstinate and brave; but my voice was wavering. In response, the force let go of my hair. I tried to get up once again when something lifted my into the air. "LET ME GO!" I screamed, clawing at the thin air. "LET ME GO!"
"Your soul is mine and there's nothing you can do once I make my decision, bitch! Now shut up!" I felt a slap across my cheek and blood pooled in my mouth. Guessing where this thing was, I spit it out and my eyes grew wide with terror when I saw it cling to something floating in midair. "Mmm... thanks for the treat, Teagan." the voice whispered again, and I let out another strangled scream as my blood started to disappear.
"Wh-who the Hell are you?!"
"The question isn't who am I... the question is what am I."
"And what a-are you?"
"Someone who is going to make you part of the underworld." the voice whispered again. I felt them turn my head so my neck was close to where I had spit my blood. I tried to fight again, but realized that I couldn't move. I gasped as a stinging sensation filled my neck; just for a moment. I heard a chuckle before ecstacy filled my body as they began to feast on my blood. I moaned loudly, pushing my neck closer to whatever was there. Black dots floated in front of my eyes, but I didn't care. I was just about to pass out when the feasting stopped. "Now you must do exactly what I say." the voice commanded, withdrawing their teeth from my neck. I mumbled a reply, feeling very weak. The only thing I felt right then was a thirst I knew water couldn't quench. There were some spoken words I couldn't hear until something was placed at my mouth. "Drink."
"Drink?"
"Don't ask questions, just do it," I do as told, sighing happily as the sweet taste that fills my mouth. Before I am satified, they stop me. "Welcome, Teagan. You are now a vampire."
"A v-vampire?" I repeated as I was laid down on the couch.
"Yes. You are one of us, now."
"And who are you?"
"My name is Alexander." I gasped again as I saw him materialize in front of me. He was absolutely gorgeous with his lean, tanned body with dark spikes and chocolate brown eyes.
"If I may say so, Alexander... you look incredibly sexy for a vampire." I blurted, not even realizing what I just said.
"You're pretty damn beautiful, youself, Teagan," he smiled, leaning down to softly kiss me. Instead of the ice cold I felt earlier, firey heat was there that warmed my entire body. "You're mine, now. Forever."
The heart may freeze or it can burn
The pain will ease if I can learn
There is no future
There is no past
I live this moment as my last
There's only us
There's only this
Forget regret
Or life is yours to miss
No other road
No other way
No day but today
