-Jake: Jake was brought to the sanctuary in the summer of 2008 as a baby. He had fallen from his nest and had ruptured his air sac. Katie, our intern, took Jake home and fixed him up. After he was able, he was released into our aviary and now he greets guests very enthusiastically.
-Carl: Carl was brought to the sanctuary in the summer of 2008 much like Jake was. Amanda, another intern, raised Carl and now he to resides in our aviary.
-Tangerine: Tangerine's nest was blown down in the summer of 2008. He and his siblings were brought to the sanctuary, but because he fractured his hip he had to stay with us, while his siblings were released.
-Missy: Missy was hand raised for the purpose of preschool programs here at the sanctuary.
-Dakota + Cora: Dakota is our oldest adult male pheasant, he was brought to the sanctuary from a hunting preserve. Cora is our oldest adult female pheasant, she was brought here because she flew through a bay window, suffering brain damage and is now blind in her right eye. Dakota and Cora have had two clutches of babies. The first were released two summers ago, while the second clutch is still in our aviary.
-Rocky, Dutchess, + Lady: Rocky, Dutchess, and Lady are the son and daughters of Dakota and Cora. Rocky is the young male, he is often on the boardwalk and will take meal worms from guests if you're patient and quiet. Dutchess and Lady are the two other females. Dutchess is the darkest female, Lady is the lightest and Cora is usually not able to be seen.
-Lucy: Lucy, also, was brought to the sanctuary the summer of 2008. She has eye damage from a sibling.
-Gracie + George: Gracie and George were raised by people and are too socialized for release. They like to pick at guest's shoes as they walk through the aviary, picking off seeds and bits of goodies.
-Misc. Doves: Their are many other misc. doves in our aviary, most have wing injuries that make them unreleasable.
-Cardinals: One was raised by people and is imprinted on people so is unreleasable. The other was hit by a car and is non-flighted.
-Brown Thrasher: He has an eye injury.
-Gray Catbird: Was hit by a car, and his non-flighted.
-Rock Dove: Brought to the sanctuary too socialized to be released.
