CHAPTER SEVEN
Alicia just stood there in shock. She wasn’t sure what was happening. Should things be moving slower? They had just met up again, shouldn’t they be taking their time to fix everything. So many thoughts were running through her head.
“Do you want to come in?” Alicia spoke up.
“First what’s your answer?” Nick asked scared that she would reject him.
“Nick, I will go back out with you but only on one condition.” Alicia said looking down at the ground.
“What’s that?”
“That we take it slow. I don’t want to rush into things in fear that it’ll just screw us back up. I want us to take are time to get to know each other again. We’ve changed so much.”
“It’s a deal then. I don’t want to rush you into anything you don’t want to do Alicia. I care for you to much to hurt you.” Nick said while pulling her into a hug.
“Thanks Nick. Knowing that you support what I want to do means a lot to me. Anyways, do you still want to come in?” Alicia asked.
“Sure” Nick said as he let Alicia go.
She went into her bag to grab her key and unlocked the door. While they walked in Nick remembered everything about the house. As he looked around he noticed small things that were different. Like how all the framed pictures of them were no longer on the fireplace mantel, and he noticed that the furniture was rearranged.
Alicia turned around and looked at Nick.
“Geez Nick by the way your looking at my house you would think that you have never been in here before” Alicia said in a sarcastic voice.
“I’m just taking it all in. The house looks different.” Nick said in a complete daze.
“Um well yea, I got sick of how some of the rooms looked so I changed stuff around.”
“It looks nice.” Nick said looking back at Alicia.
“Thanks.” Alicia said then grabbing his hand to lead him downstairs.
There wasn’t much downstairs, just a couch and her grand piano. She sat on her piano bench and just stared at the ground. Nick went over and sat on the couch.
“So when did you start writing your album?” Alicia asked Nick while playing a few cords on her piano.
“Around the time we broke up I guess you can say.” Nick said quietly listening to what Alicia was playing. He went and sat down next to her on the bench and listened some more. All of a sudden Alicia stopped.
“What?” She questioned.
“What was that you were playing? It was good.” Nick told her.
“I don’t know. Just some melody I got in my head all of a sudden.” She told him.
“Play it again.” Nick told her.
“Ok” She said as she started to play the song again.
All of a sudden Nick started to sing to it.
Nick:
I was a fool to ever leave your side

The breakup we had has made me lonesome and sad

Then Alicia joined in with him.
Alicia:
I spent the ev'ning with the radio

Our quarrel was such a way of learnin' so much

Then both of them started to sing together.

Alicia:
I sat here starin' at the same old wall
Came back to life just when I got your call
I wished I could climb right through the telephone line

Nick:

I found it very hard to stay away
As we reminisce on precious moments like this

“Wow. That was good.” Alicia said looking up.
“It was. Hm.. we should write it down. Maybe later we could record it or something.” Nick said taking a piece of paper and a pen and writing down the words.
“No I don’t want to record it. I just want it to be ours.” Alicia said leaning her head on Nicks shoulder.
“Ok. It’ll be just our song” Nick said putting the pen down and wrapping his arm around Alicia’s back.
“Lets go upstairs and watch a movie” Nick said grabbing both her hands and pulling her up.
