Chapter 3

The Disney Village (probably the most un- village like place on the planet
however) was a bright, ironically tacky place with a strong American theme to
it. On one of the walls of the buildings celebrities such as Arnold
Schwartznegger, Sean Connery etc had made impressions of their hands in
plaster. Very amusing.
Upon arrival at the Park, we headed towards the most famous ride of all- the
cups and saucers. Edd was almost sick but George decided that the ride was
far too tame, so we ran off in the direction of the Maze. Emma and Saz
screaming happily. Whilst Emma did her best to catch some water coming out of
a strange fountain thing, George was almost drowned by water from another,
which made Emma somewhat jealous. From the top of the central castle the
people around looked like ants. We were then ripped off by 2.50, or 25 FF,
sandwiches in a snack bar. While eating these, Emma told everyone that she
was sure that Mark was with them in some form- George then pointed out a tree
in the shape of a giraffe and said that she also agreed that Mark was with
them, whatever.
The next ride was "Its a Small World" which was probably a favourite with
tame ride fans- but very cute. Initial excitement was curtailed when we
realised that there were no loop-the loops or upside down parts, but Emma
found a mark-lookalike Giraffe and George found a surfer, so all were happy.
After many more rides, including the notorious "Pirates of the Carribean"
which left one suffering from skeleton overload, we sat down and enjoyed
baked potatoes.
Whilst Edd, George and Mogoot headed for home, Saz and Emma stayed in the
park. Edd, george and Mogoot then returned to the park and bought ponchos,
due to the imminent thunderstorm and current monsoon- like rain. We watched
an awesome firework display, complete with alive/artificial Tinkerbell, and
also saw a dazzling electric parade of carraiges, dragons, etc that seemed to
be using half the world's electricity reserves. Very good. After this we went
back to the hotel, but stopped on the way to watch a rock concert playing
U2's "With or without You". George spotted many dodgy guitars and a dodgy
French amp but Mogoot didn't seem very interested at all. Intense monsoon-
like rain carried on, George wondering if we had come to the Tropics and not
France, and were about to witness the biggest rainstorm/ typhoon of all time.
Upon arrival at the gotel, Mogoot decided to go to sleep, so George and Edd
set off for a very romantic walk down the river path, but unfortunatly didn't
meet Saz or Emma. We then spent the next few millennia searching for the
elusive Saz and Emma in the Disney Village, but in vain. However it's a nice
place to have to look for someone.
The biggest surprise of the year awaited Edd and George in their hotel room-
or rather outside of it! You guessed it, some IDIOT had put the deadlock
across George's room and had also locked the door inbetween the rooms. So we
couldn't get in to the girl's room. We thought that Emma and Saz had the key
to the room but later found out that they didn't, it was inside the room.
Mogoot was asleep so we didn't wake him.
George and Edd then spent the next hour or so wondering what to do: look for
Saz and Emma or creep into reception and attempt to nick the second key to
the rooms. Finally we decided to go to reception, and after a bit of bribery
were given the second key to the room. Intense rain followed by intense
embarrasment.
