Powers of the Mind
"Hi-ho hi-ho, it's off to work we go" muttered Jack as he advanced up the ramp. He was rewarded by a brief smile from Sam moments before they entered the wormhole. Sg-1, kitted out in exploration gear, were all set for their current mission: exploring another planet. Probably with lots of trees, Jack thought glumly. He knew the Goa'uld had planted trees to make planet environments liveable for humans but did it always have to be trees? What about bushes? The probe revealed that the atmosphere was breathable and a comfortable temperature. So they stepped through the open wormhole with little to worry about.
Nethertheless, emerging out the other side they immediately took defence positions while surveying for any danger. The planet itself was much like a desert lots of sand and very dusty. However, much to Jack's dismay, there were still trees looking very out of place every 10 meters or so. At the base of these trees, and where they were currently kneeling, was a straw like grass. Daniel was the first to relax and the rest of the team followed suit, falling into an easy walk. Hopefully it would be a peaceful uneventful mission with only Jack's singing to bother them.
"With a shovel and spade and a hand grenade Hi-ho" continued Jack
"O'Neill, Are you sure those are the correct lyrics?" Teal'c interrupted.
"Ya. Why?" Jack said, taking a break from his song.
"It seems unlikely that the 7 dwarfs would have hand grenades"
"You read Snow White Teal'c?"
"Indeed. You make frequent references to your culture O'Neill. It is useful for me to know these things."
"Huh. Enjoy it?"
"I preferred Jungle Book."
"Oh."
"I wanna be like you-oo. Walk like you, Talk like you sho-be-do" Jack's jaw dropped as he stopped and stared in amazement as Teal'cs deep voice filled the air. The rest of the team also looked at him astonished.
"Someone like me-hehe, can learn to be, like someone like you-hoho" continued Teal'c. Sam grinned and Daniel shook his head in amazement as they began walking again.
Half way up the hill they came across a signpost. Daniel was the first to spy it and quickly hurried over.
"Uh-oh."
"Uh-oh? That doesn't sound too good," said Jack walking the extra paces between them that little bit faster.
"Well this board. It's in go'uld." Daniel said tracing what could be letters with his finger.
"And" said Jack, holding his gun slightly higher and scanned the skyline once again.
"Well, they're not here."
"You sure?" asked Jack sceptically.
"Oh yeah. It says something about destroying the trees of the inhabitants here but not theseeds."
"What?"
"Er, not sure"
"I mean. I'm all for destroying the trees but seeds? What's that all about?"
"It appears the go'uld wiped out the adults of this civilisation, but not the children" said Teal'c, looking at the board with Daniel Jackson.
"Why?"
"Dunno, it just says they couldn't"
"The big, bad and very ugly Goa'uld couldn't kill a bunch of kids. Doesn't sound like the ones we know and hate. What, did they have sympathy pains?" Jack said, he knew he was being suspicious and sarcastic but he didn't really care.
"It is indeed unusual," commented Teal'c. Jack thought for a moment before nodding, almost to himself.
"Okay, let's carry on and see if we can find these seeds, or whatever they are."

Nearly a mile later they rounded a corner to be facing a clearing. There was a stone wall placed very unnaturally off to one side and a large tent to the other. In between these two stood a group of perhaps 20 children. Sg-1 was currently not in their view, put it was obvious they were anticipating them.
"Okay Teal'c, you were right. Children not seeds" said Jack with a sigh. Daniel had already started walking and there was no point in trying to persuade him not to. As Daniel came into the children's view he stopped and gently took off his gun, placing it on the ground. Standing up he walked towards the group of children slowly, with his hands open to demonstrate he held no other weapon.
"Hello, My name's Daniel Jackson. We're peaceful explorers fro" Daniel froze, literally. He stopped talking, he stopped moving, and he even stopped breathing. His facial expression and his position remained the same. It was as if someone had pressed the pause button on him.
Jack's gaze immediately shifted to the group of children, one of which was now lowing their hand. Daniel unfroze and wouldn't have noticed he'd been frozen if not for the change of position of everyone and Jack's determined settled jaw and raised his gun. Daniel hurried over to them as Jack stood up, gun still aimed at the group of children.
"Jack," said Daniel his voice half-questioning, although already knowing the answer, and half a warning.
"Yes Daniel" Jack said with a sigh, anticipating the upcoming argument. They'd been best friends for over four years now but they still had different ways of dealing with things. Daniel had a tendency to greet people with open arms where as Jack, although not immediately shooting people on sight, was inclined to be ready for action.
"What are you doing?"
"What am I doing?" Jack echoed sarcastically. "Did I just hear you right? Are you asking me why I'm pointing a gun at the bad guys."
"Kids Jack! They're kids!"
"Daniel! Those kids just froze you."
"Technically sir to freeze him"
"Ah ah ah" said Jack holding up a hand to Sam, throwing her a quick glance to check she hadn't taken it the wrong way before focusing his attention back on Daniel.
"Jack I'm fine" sighed Daniel "Why don't we give them a chance to explain before we shoot them huh?"
Teal'c cocked his head to one side and walked into the clearing Daniel Jackson had just been standing in the child in front of him gasped.
"Jaffa!" he yelled, his eyes wide in panic. Immediately more children ran up and joined him. Although obviously scared they knew how to act efficiently and three small girls simultaneously raised their open hands at Teal'c. Suddenly and without warning Teal'c was thrown violently backwards onto the sand, much like a hand device beam, although the team saw no yellow beam of energy
"Hey!" yelled Jack suddenly standing up and catching the children's attention. They immediately dispersed, many going to a large hut/tent in the distance. Helping Teal'c up he ran a hand through his hair.
"How'd you do that?" he muttered.
"Tele-kinesis" Sam exclaimed as if a lightbulb had just been switched on inside her head. She turned to Jack and her team excited then realising they didn't understand launched into another of her explanations.
"Tele-kinesis, it's a person's ability to influence a physical object, or an event, by merely thinking about it!" Jack sighed and sat down on a rock as she continued. "Some researchers consider Tele-kinesis a part of psyche, but not strictly extra-sensory 'perception'. I've never seen it before myself, until now that is. It's amazing."
"You're like a textbook with arms," muttered Jack beneath his breath. He immediately regretted it though when he saw Sam's face fall. Evidently she'd heard him and didn't appreciate it. However it was not something he could deal with at the moment, he'd make it up to her later.
"Isn't that impossible?" said Daniel, trying to soothe Sam and shooting Jack a look of disapproval.
"Well, a lot of people would say a lot of things we've seen are impossible."

Daniel decided to try the peaceful approach again, calling to the remaining children.
"We mean you no harm!" he yelled, stepping carefully out into the
"We're the good guys! Not go'uld." Jack added.
"He is a Jaffa!"
"Yes. Yes, he is. But he's a good guy." Jack said, joining Teal'c and Daniel. He gave a signal for Sam to follow.
"There are no good jaffa! You lie"
"My friends speak the truth I no longer" Teal'c was cut of mid sentence by a young boy waving a hand in his direction and freezing him.
"Hey!" exclaimed Jack. "What did ya do that for?"
"He is a Jaffa! We will not speak with them."
"Look, I told you before he's on our side! Oh for cryin out loud."
Daniel stepped in at this point.
"Jack, why don't you let me talk to them while you and Teal'cpatrol the perimeter or something." Jack's anger lasted a few seconds longer before he nodded and left the tent muttering something about stubborn people. Daniel wasn't exactly sure who he was referring to but just then Teal'c unfroze. The children were immediately on their guard again.
"Er.. Teal'c. Jack's already gone I think it would be a good idea if youwell"
"I will join Colonel O'Neill in his assessment for any danger."
"Great thanks Teal'c." Daniel watched Teal'cs back retreat out of the tent door before turning back to the children.
"Okaaay. Now, I'd like to talk to you, just me, but er, no freezing ok?" the group exchanged glances as Daniel waited for an answer. Suddenly and simultaneously all the children turned to face Daniel, some
nodding, others just expectant. Daniel raised his eyebrows and braced himself for the upcoming discussion.

Nearly two hours later and Daniel was still in tent. He sighed and ran his hand through his hair.
"And so you go freely with this Jaffa, Teal'c and he with you."
"Yes" said Daniel for what he thought must be the seventh time. The group was suddenly silent exchanging glances between them.
"We will exchange information with you." A young boy spoke out and was then added o by another girl.
"But the jaffa must not remain." There was a silence left after this but it was obvious they all agreed.
"Okay." Said Daniel standing up. "I'm just gonna go and talk to the others, ok?"
"We will exchange information with you. You only. Your companions may remain but the Jaffa must go."
"Okay, I'll see what they say."

Jack wasn't pleased.
"So, let me get this straight. They don't like Teal'c and wanna send him home. They do like you and wanna talk. Did you explain to them we're on the SAME SIDE!"
"Yes Jack, I did, but we have to stick to that arrangement if we want to know about them."
"It makes sense they don't trust Teal'c Sir. You wouldn't trust what you believed to be the servant of who killed your race."
"Okay, point taken." Jack said reluctantly. "Teal'c, you ok with this?"
"Indeed O'Neill. Their alliance will be of great value to us. I will return to the SGC immediately."
"I'll come see you off." Jack said marching off. "Daniel, you start sharing information. I don't want to be on this god forsaken planet any longer than necessary." Daniel pushed his glasses further up his nose and turned back towards the tent.

The next day, they had started making breakfast when they heard a sound in the distance.
"Hey. Is that the gate?" asked Daniel straightening up and listening. Jack listened too.
"Yep. Sure is" Jack said in a tome that indicated he was particularly bothered. Daniel sighed.
"Ok, I'll go and see what Hammond wants."
"Ok" said Jack with a wave of his hand. Daniel shook his head and began a comfortable jog to the gate. He was expecting to seen a probe, but instead, three men wearing army uniform.
"Daniel Jackson?" The first one called on approach.
"Yes. Who are you?" Daniel said as the wormhole disengaged and they began walking back towards Jack
"Captain Twant. NID"
"Twat?"
"Twant."
"Oh. So why, er, why are you here."
"We've been sent to collect the group of alien children you've discovered." Daniel stopped walking.
"Umcollect? What if they don't want to come."
"I'm afraid they don't have a choice in the matter. I have my orders."
"Well, I don't want to be a pain in the ass, but we already asked them and they don't want to come" Daniel said firmly.
"Dr Jackson, do I need remind you of how their highly developed assets will be of imperative weapon in the battle adjacent the Go'uld."
"No, but I think I need to remind you they said no."
"I am under strict instructions to bring the specimens back" sighed Captain
"Specimens?" echoed Daniel
"Look I'll do what I've got to do ok?"
"And I'll do what I have to do" said Daniel folding his arms across his chest and spreading his feet wider, putting himself between the NID guys and the children. Captain laughed.
"You think you'll stop me?"
"Maybe not. And maybe Major Carter won't, or her M-15, maybe Jack wont ,or hid P-90, but I'm willing to give it a try."
Captain eyed him for a moment. Daniel stared back at him, his face displaying no signs of emotion but determinism, proof that he was learning something from Teal'c. Daniel was in fact, pleased he had managed to remember the names of the guns. He might have got it wrong to what they were actually carrying but that was beside the point.
"You haven't got the right." Twant finally said.
"Haven't got the right!" exclaimed Daniel. "What about their rights? What gives you the right to take them from their own planet?"
"The US government."
"Well unfortunately I don't give a rat's ass about the US government."
"That's courtmar"
"And unfortunately I can't be court-martialled either." Daniel said with a faint smile. Captain Twant narrowed his eyes and suddenly sprinted around Daniel.
"Hey!" yelled Daniel spinning on his heels and turning after him. "SAM! JACK!"
Captain Twant was about ten feet meters from the children when Sam rounded one side of the tent. Her eyes widened as she saw what was going to happen and she took a running dive to incept him. She landed with a thud a few feet in front of him but was quickly on her feet again. By this time Jack had also run up but the children had already taken action to protect themselves, sending another beam of energy at Captain Twant. Unfortunately Sam's actions had diverted him and the energy hit Sam, who stood directly in its path. Sam was thrown hard backwards onto the stone wall. Her eyes closed and her body slumped to the base of the wall.
"SAM!" yelled Jack and Daniel simultaneously. Daniel ran over but Jack was nearer and got there first.
"Sam? C'mon Sam don't die on us." He said checking her pulse and breathing.
"She's alive" he breathed thankfully before standing up. "I'm going to kill them! I swear.."
"Jack calm down, you didn't see everything, it wasn't their fault. If you're gonna kill anyone, kill him" said Daniel jabbing a finger in the direction of the shocked Captain.
"That's who came through the gate?"
"Yeah. NID" The look on Jack's face would have been enough to kill on sight.
"NID? What do they want?"
"The kids." Jack marched over to him.
"C..colonel O'Neill?" the Captain said, recovering from his experience.
"Yes. Who the hell are you?"
"Captain Twant Sir. NID."
"Twat?"
"Twant."
"Oh. Are you responsible for the injury of my team member?"
"Umwell, not directly"
"ARE YOU?" thundered Jack, making the captain jump and his hat fall off. Jack picked it up.
"S..sorta."
"Well, Captain." Jack began as he slowly and deliberately shredded his hat.
"I think, that you better go back to your boss and tell them that these kids don't want to go and if you EVER come back, you'll end up like your hat" said Jack finishing off with a tight smile as he sprinkled the remains of the captain hat at his feet.
"Y..yes Sir." stammered Captain Twant and he promptly walked very briskly to the gate, taking his two associates with him.

The Numans children as they were now known had insisted on no contact with earth while they stayed here. Daniel said this was because they feared reinforcements but Jack was suspicious that it was just a way to keep them here and away from Dr Fraiser's medical help.
Jack's day now had a routine. At sunrise Daniel would wake up and Jack would get a few hours sleep, after being assured by Daniel that he'd be notified of any information. Jack would automatically wake up around 7 when the sunlight fell on his face, acting as a natural alarm clock. He'd then first of all check on Sam and give her some water before going down to the nearby lake to wash and collect more water. He cooked two ration packs for lunch when Daniel came back. He sat and listened to Daniel talk about a bunch of stuff that Jack didn't care about but it served to make a change from the silence. After lunch Daniel would return to the tent and Jack would be left alone to with Sam again. At this point he'd rearrange her blankets, give her some more water and food injections and just talk to her. Not that he thought she could hear, but just to break the silence again.
Jack sighed for the millionth time and focused his attention back to Sam. He soaked the flannel in water and moped her face again. There wasn't really much point, she didn't have a fever, but it made him feel like he was doing something to help. It was at this point on the second day when three of the Numan children approached the camp. Jack was on his feet in a second.
"We come not to cause you harm" one of them said. As they approached closer Jack recognised them as the three who seemed to do the talking in the group: Uman was the boy and the two girls were Taylin and Farla.
"Where's Daniel?" he asked, still suspicious.
"He comes," said another, gesturing vaguely into the distance where Jack could just make out Daniel's shape. The children's attention however was focused not on Jack, but on Sam.
"She has not improved?" one of them asked with a slight cock in the head.
"No. But no thanks to you."  The children glanced at each other and then knelt down next to Sam. Jack stood close by, watching suspiciously. Taylin hovered her hand over Sam's chest, Uman placed his hand on top of her and Farla placed hers on top of them both. Taylin then used her spare hand to hold Sam's and Farla held Sam's other hand. Uman simply placed his free hand palm open on Sam's forehead. Jack was getting more and more uneasy about this. The children seemed to notice and they looked across at him.
"Whatcha doin'?" he said in a less than friendly tone.
"We are sorry for her injuries. We will repair them and grant her our gifts in consolation" said Taylin. Jack was prevented from saying anymore as they all closed their eyes and began chanting. By this time Daniel had also arrived on the scene.
"Daniel. What the hell are they doing?"
"I don't know. You tell me. What did they say."
"Something about gifts."
"Uh-oh."
"Uh-oh? Why uh-oh?" before Daniel could answer a strange glow seemed emanate from the centre of each child. Jack and Daniel watched fascinated as the glow travelled upwards and then down their arms and into Sam. The glow disappeared and a jolt went through Sam.
"Alright. Back off!" said Jack, deciding they'd done enough to Sam for one day. The children stood up with a strangely satisfied look on their faces. Jack was about to question them on it when his attention has grabbed by a noise from Sam. In a second he was besides her as she opened her eyes. She sat up and stretched as if she had just woken from a long sleep, showing no signs of pain whatsoever.
"Sam? You ok?"
"Yeah Daniel I'm fine," she said getting up and looking from Jack to Daniel.
"What's the matter? What happened."
"Sam, you stepped in front of whatever force they had, you hit a stone wall. Hard."
"You've been unconscious for three days Sam." Sam frowned.
" I remember a diving in front of that guy and I remember a flying sensation but it seems ages ago. Who was that guy anyway?"
"NID wanted to take the kids."
"What!" exclaimed Sam. Her m-15 took of from the ground and landed with a thud a few meters away. Jack looked at it.
"Okay, did anybody else see that?" Jack asked
"Yeah." Daniel said. One of the children hurried over.
"How do you like your new power?"
"Err, what power?" she asked nervously as she unintentionally lifted her moved the m-15 again.
"That power" said the child with a smile." Of course you must be trained how to use it. Please, come."
*********************************************************************

Sam spent half an hour in the tent learning how to control her power, not very successfully. After what she went outside and tried to move rocks and freeze trees. After managing to freeze Daniel's legs in an attempt to freeze him she gave up and sat on a rock, her head in her hands. Jack came up and placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Sam, do you want to try again?
"NO! I'm FINE!" she yelled. Jack was sent flying back 10 meters in the air, landing with a thud. He groaned as Sam and Daniel raced over to him
"Jack, Are you hurt?" Daniel asked, helping Jack roll over onto his back. Jack slowly let out a breath of air.
"No no, I'm fine. Just peachy. Really. I'll just wait here and wait for the feeling to return to my spine"
"Oh god sir, I'm sorry I didn't mean to..."
"S'okay."
"I was upset. I'm sorry. It's just everyone has been asking me that and"
"Sam. I'm ok, really. No worries."

A few hours later both the suns had set only the fire they'd lit gave any light. Sam sat by it staring into it, face expressionless. She'd spent the last hour or so try to train her power with the help of the children to little success
"Hey Sam," said Jack coming up behind her and making her jump. This also resulted in the fire rising a few feet higher. Jack glanced at it.
"Sorry." He said sitting down beside her and handing her a cup.
"No, I'm sorry. I should have learnt to control this by now!" the fire in front of them rose and fell unnaturally.
"Sam, you're expecting too much! You've only been practising for a few hours and you're upset you haven't learnt how to be an expert.
"You're right."
"Yep. I am. So pay attention cause it doesn't happen often." Sam laughed and Jack thought for the millionth time how pretty she looked when she was laughing.
"It's kinda funny really, cause not all the children have every powers." Sam said, now the mood was lighter
"They don't?"
"No. Well they all have the power of telepathy, but only the children with blue eyes have the power to freeze things, and only the girls have telekinesis."
"Oh so why is that funny?"
"Cause I got all three!"
"So, like you can read our thoughts."
"No. Well I don't think so."
"How'd they get these powers? Were they born with them?"
"No. When the Goa'uld came through the gate their community realised they would not be able to survive. They put all the children in a cave, hoping to preserve their race, giving them the powers of the older generation. They'd been told to stay in the cave whatever happened but after they heard their parents screaming well they went to help them."
"And they basically kicked Goa'uld but?"
"Well they did wipe out the entire Goa'uld army but they lost nearly all of themselves too. When they were put into the caves there were nearly 200 of them. Now it's nearer 30.
Jack gazed at her.  God she looks so tired and pale.
"Thank you sir. Great way to make me feel better."
"I didn't say anything."
"Yes you did. You said I look tired and pale."
I didn't say that. I thought it. "I didn't say that, thought it."
"No need to repeat yourself."
Huh?
"Jack, wait a minute, think of a number. C'mon any number."
4. The number of years we've been Sg-1.
"4" said Sam. "The number of years we've been sg-1"
"That's just what I was thinking."
"I know" said Sam with a sigh. "I guess the telepathy has kicked in."
"You can read my mind then?"
"Yep."
Oh god. This is not good. What if she finds out that I
Sam didn't 'hear' the rest of this as the children were now 'calling' her through her mind.
"The children are calling me." She said.
"Through, your mind?"
"Yeah, she said with a sigh. "I'll be back soon. I promise. I really need to know how to use my powers and control them properly."

The sound of the gate started up and this time both Jack and Daniel stood up to see who came through. As the wormhole activated 3 or 4 squadrons of military squadrons came through.
"Er this is just a guess but I'd say Twat got some reinforcements."
"Shit. They don't give up do they?" Jack said, already running back towards the tent. He ordered Daniel to cover hoping that this one time Daniel would obey them before running to the entrance of the tent.
"CARTER! You in there!" he yelled. He received no response from inside the tent. Instead he heard screaming from some distance behind him. Turning he saw three of the children had been captured and knocked unconscious. The rest of them were running in every direction.  Jack peered closely at the guns to confirm his suspicions, they weren't loaded with bullets but with tranquillisers.  Realising he was in danger of being hit he took of at a sprint towards Daniel. In this position they were shielded from fire by the sand dune.
"Where's Sam?" Daniel panted, as Jack joined him lying flat on the ground
"I don't know, she must have gone somewhere, otherwise she'd have come out."
"Err.. Jack." Daniel said pointing the vague direction of the tent from which Sam had just emerged
"Major!" Jack yelled as he also sighted her. Without glancing at them Sam closed her eyes and spread her arms out wide. A frown of concentration appeared across her face.
It's ok Jack, just give me a second
Jack ducked back behind the sand dune and signalled Daniel to do the same as they closely watched her. Almost in slow motion they watched as Sam's hands slowly clenched into fists. She suddenly snapped her head up and Daniel and Jack could see the determined jaw line on her face a she surveyed the battle scene.
Her eyes locked on one squadron of the NID racing towards the back of the tent. With her fist still clenched she swiped her arm sharply to the left. The whole squadron went flying backwards. Jack looked at Daniel
"Cool." They both said
A glazed expression came over Sam's eyes which Jack and Daniel recognised as internal communication with the group. A few seconds later her eyes were focused again and a line of children suddenly ran out of the tent towards her. They quickly formed a line and joining hands, they began to walk forward.
Jack, Daniel. If you can here me get behind us. Quickly.
They didn't need a second warning. Jack and Daniel were on their feet and running silently to position themselves behind Sam. It gave them the perfect view point to witness the whole line throw their still joined hands into the air. Everything stopped. Jack and Daniel stood up and surveyed the scene.
"Way cool." Said Jack, giving a low whistle of appreciation, Sam gave a small smile. Everything had stooped. People running, fires burning, everything had just stopped. A second later and Sam was back to work. She moved all the NID guys to the furthest corner and put a wall of rocks between them before turning back to them.
"Okay, they won't stay frozen for long, the kids are by the gate, where can we send them?
"Send them to the nox." Daniel said
"I'm a big fan, but that'll take ages."
"Ok, I think we should send them to any planet we have friends on, then get in touch with the Nox and see what happens after that.
They reached the top of the hill and began walking down towards the DHD.
Jack got there a little faster than the rest as he tripped over a branch and slid to the bottom, resulting in  laughter from his team members.
"What planet?" Jack asked, but Daniel was already dialling in an address.
"Where did you just dial." Jack asked as the wormhole activated and the children started hurrying through. Aybdos. They'll be safe there. I'll follow them through and explain to Kasuf.
"Give my regards to Skarra."
"Will do." Daniel said, seconds before he disappeared into the wormhole.
"I think we should go now, before those guys unfreeze and realise what we've done." Sam said
"Good idea."
"Welcome back." General Hammond's voice boomed over the intercom. "I'm sure it will be an interesting debriefing." Jack glanced at Sam.
"I'm sure it will."

**************

"Telepathy. A person's awareness of another's thoughts, without any communication through normal sensory channels. Telekinesis. A person's ability to influence a physical object or an event, through use of mind only." Said Dr Janet Fraiser, reading out of some sort dictionary.
"Yep. That's it, that's what she's got!"
"Well, I don't really know what to do about it. Or if anything should be done.
"From what you told me, when Major Carter first acquired these 'powers' she was a danger to both herself and other. I cannot risk the security of the base."
"It's ok general. Since then she has learned to train her 'powers' and is perfectly safe."
"And, there is a chance this phenonmn will just disappear after a period of time."
"Ok people. I'm giving you all a well earned rest, you're on downtime for 48 hours effective from tomorrow morning.."
"Thank you sir." Jack said
"Much appreciated." Daniel added
"Indeed. General Hammond. I would like permission to spend my downtime on (family planet) with my wife and son.
"Of course Teal'c. Jack will you notify Major Carter and then report back to my office "
"Yes sir."

Half an hour later Jack was standing in front of General Hammond desk.
"Jack. I've had a complaint come in about you from NID. Destroying government property, terrorising a captain, verbal goading of surnames, making threats about carrying out orders and the list goes on."
"I have a firm defence against all of those sir! One little hat?! C'mon. Ok I take that back he had a big head soWhat kind of a guy has a surname of Twat anyway?"
"Twant."
"Whatever." Jack paused after this wondering if he'd pushed it a little too far.
"You cause me a hell-of-a-lot of paper work son, you know that."
"Yes sir. Sorry sir."
"Alright Jack" General Hammond said with a grin "you're dismissed."
"Thanks, see you around George." General Hammond looked up but he'd already gone
