| Hello, my name is Amanda and I am 7 years old. I have spastic quad cerebral palsy. I live with my mom and dad, my 3 sisters and my five brothers. My mom and dad adopted me when I was 10 months old. I love music. I like for my mommy to sing to me and I shake my tamborine. I can't sit up or walk yet but I love to crawl around all over the house. I just got my new power wheelchair and I am having a lot of fun learning to use it! I am also learning to use a computer at school. My teacher says the computer is going to be my key to the world someday. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| Hello, my name is Robin and I am Amanda's mom. My husband and I adopted Amanda when she was 10 months old. She is the light of our lives. Her determination keeps us going every day. She has come a long way in her 6 years. When she came to our home she was almost completely blind. She was diagnosed with Cortical Visual Impairment Luckily her vision has greatly improved. She has also been diagnosed with seizure disorder. We have the seizures under control for now though. .Amanda has three sisters and five brothers. We have adopted eight children that we have fostered and we continue to foster children that need us. We are all very happy to be a part of a big, happy, diverse family. We hope by sharing our story we can help others who have similar situations and let them know that they are not alone. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
