Eyeball Thumbprint Cookies
COOKIE INGREDIENTS
1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups white sugar
2 eggs
1tsp vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1tspbaking powder
1 pinch salt
FILLING INGREDIENTS
1 cup powdered sugar
2tbsp softened butter or margerine
4 tsp milk
1/2tsp vanilla extract
all colors food coloring
DIRECTIONS
In a large bowl,cream together the butter and sugar until fluffy.Beat in the eggs one at a time,then stir in the vanilla extract.Combine the flour,baking powder,and salt:gradually blend into the creamed mixture to form a soft dough.Cover and refrigerate over night

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.On a floured surface,roll the dough out 1/4 inch thick.Cut with round biscuit cutter.Place cookies 2inches apart on cookie sheet.

Bake for 10 min.or until very lightly brown.

Imediatly after removing the cookies,use the back of a spoon to create thumbprints in the center of the cookies.

Prepare filling:Combine powdered sugar,softened butter or margerine,milk,and vanilla extract in a small bowl;beat on high until smooth.put two small amounts aside.In one small portion,mix red food coloring.In the other combine all colors to make a black mixture.

Heat the mixture in the microwave for a few seconds until it can be poured with a spoon.

Pour the white mixture into the thumbprints in the cookies.Let dry about 5min.Using the black mixture make a small black circle in the center of the white.Using a toothpick use the red to make lines running through the whites of the eyes.
Let dry for about 20mins and enjoy your Eyeball Thumbprint Cookies.
