"What I wouldn't give... to have one more shot at life"
How little do we know that sooner or later, someone just might regret these words. Life, If that is what you want to call it.. if you can.
____
Arturo Hackshade, established explorer of seas off of the coasts of South America, as well as satelites of Hawaii and Australia An egyptian witchdoctor who has tamed a werewolf has it bite a random person that he has pulled through the "portal of the gods" A rip in time. Arturo is flung from the mundane tasks of his life and pulled into ancient egypt and captured, then exposed to both Amel, the deity which the witchdoctor serves, as well as the werewolf. Tutankamen discoveres this plot and has the entire operation extinguished. The werewolf, oddly enough, escapes fine, and with Amel sattisfied, he's nowhere to be found.. so the witchdoctor and his crew get poisoned, killed( With the exception of Arturo who was immortal, but without power ), mummified, and cursed..
_____
Amel's original intent was to obtain a physical form, but being an immortal, this can never happen. Amel's thirst for human flesh infects Arturo and expresses itself through a lack of pranic energy.. life energy.. The bite that Arturo sustained previous to the mummification, pushes werewolf venom through his veins...
_____
On the "other side of the sky", referring to egyptian afterilfe, Imhotep, who has already died by this time, but is a demi-god, through working his way up in the favor of the people of egypt, takes it upon himself to right what has been wronged and uses his own power to bring Arturo back to life, or rather, restore him....( though, this was some centuries later.. )
_____
So.. modern day egypt... wrapped in bandages.. body slowly regenerating.. dried organs, preserved through the excellent embalming practices of the egyptians make their way back into the casket. (Imhotep's power) and reconnect themselves with Arturo's body. The regenerative powers of the dried fluids return as a single drop of water (once again, the influence of imhotep through the intervention of human beings) and from there things escalate untill everything human works..
According to some scholars it was Amel that tricked Lestat into becoming a vampire, taking some of her mortality to achieve his own ends, by trading some of his immortality. Amel's hunger has since been appeased through Lestat's broods and their feeding upon the pranic/life energy of those living. Amel's puncturing of Arturo's skin is a second attempt.. a failed attempt at acheiving mortality. As such, much like lestat, Arturo was granted immortality, however the need to feed was much lesser, vicariously satisfied through that of others; however, it was still a pain to deal with. Those that are born of Arturo's line will be much like himself, needing not to feed on blood, but vicariously being fed through satiation of other vampires automatically, unless prevented. This pranic drain also works against more human creatures, or anything else that contains pranic energy.
