Book center-stories about choosing pets, following rules and how laws are made

Writing Center – Write or draw pictures about rules or laws they follow

Wednesday

Adopt a class pet.

Teacher and class will choose a virtual pet as a class pet.  Teacher will use different methods to choose the pet.  Do we want a kitty or a puppy?  How can we decide fairly what we will get?  Allowing the students to discuss if they want to vote and how they will vote. (ie. Show of hand, by ballot, tally marks or some other method).  Discuss how when the vote is made that we can be unhappy but, why this method it fair.  What do we want our pet to look?  Teach the student to make a graph

Thursday

Make Class Rules

The teacher will guide the student in making their own class rules, consequences and rewards.  Then the students will take pictures of each other following the rules and not following the rules.  Then teacher will make a PowerPoint slide presentation to show from those pictures.  Then will show the students their handy work.

 

Friday

Play Jeopardy for assessment.
