| I play on Monique Saxophones, look below at my tenor.. You probably thinking why would someone chose to play on a better horn if he could afford too? Well here's my thought, yes the higher end models play moderately better than their cheaper counterparts, but I figure with all the advancements I can hold off some more, I think there are breaking through trying to make harmonic advancements which allow a better altissiomo range However there is also the issue of not having to chose a car over a saxophone. I also figure that the primary influences on the horn make the biggest diiference.. That is why I use an Otto Link STM 7* for jazz, a Vandoren T45 for concert band and a Berg Larsen 105/0 HR for Marching Band and Rock on my Tenor in addition all my ligatures are Rovners. For my soprano I use a Dukoff D7 with an Eddie Daniels ligature and also use the Selmer's Super Session Mouthpiece I facing, this mouthpiece is excellent. It gives me a soprano sound which is richer and most distant from Kenny G. For playing Soprano you know you sound good if you don't sound like a duck or Kenny G. Kenny G has wriiten some nice melodies, but his solos suck, they're annoying and long, all he does is flap up and down scales. |
