| This is the greatest field in engineering becuase it allows technological advances, for instance we are in the Silicon age. Silicon is a material which allows smaller computer chips and was devised by a materials engineer not a computer scientist. Throughout history the ages have been defined by the material advancements such as the stone age through bronze age etc.. However I decided to study Materials Science due to many applications including musical applications of materials. |
| For instance does a wood clarinet sound better because it's made out of expensive wood or that the craftmanship of the wooden one is done to higher specifications. I explored this when I made a simple clarinet out of PVC piping. |
