| ������������������������� �����������Finding Out What my Learning Styles Are. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| ���� Would you like to find out the best way for you to learn? Well you can by taking the HBDI and VARK learning styles questionnaires. By taking these learning styles questionnaires you can find out your weakest and strongest points in learning. It will also teach you how to adapt to other ways of learning style. For instance my HBDI results told me that my strongest learning style is innovating learning. An innovating learns best by seeking new possibilities. My VARK results told me that I learn best in kinesthetic learning. A kinesthetic learner learns best by doing hands on projects. In this paper I am going to show you the things that I have learned this semester. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| ���� According to the HBDI results I am an innovating learner. An innovating learner learns by seeking new possibilities. In class my part in innovating is that I learned when we did this about me by taking the HBDI and the VARK learning styles. Even though the HBDI says that I am an innovating learner, I do not agree with my results. I have come to realize that I am more of a doing learner than anything. Because I like using my hands and doing hands on projects. Also in the HBDI results it says that my weakest learning is thinking. A thinking learner learns by pondering facts and theories. I have learned how to be part of a thinking learner in class by doing activities like working on my web page. But to compare these results to my VARK results they are totally different. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| ����� According to my VARK profile I am a kinesthetic learner. A person that is a kinesthetic learner learns by doing hands on projects. This I do agree with unlike my HBDI results. I have learned how to do things by using my hands, like putting some desk together or taking a VCR apart and putting it back together. In the VARK my lowest score was in Visual learning. A visual learner learns by looking at charts or diagrams. An example is that I am not good in math at all and the teacher had drawn a graph on the board to try to teach us our time tables. But I never learned it that way I had to find my own way too learn my time tables. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| � ��I feel that my study skills professor teaches in a doing learning style. In class we have done different assignments like the graduation game. That is a doing game because it is a hands on game. This method has taught me that the further we are away from our goal the harder it is to accomplish it but I have to take it a little bit at a time to be successful.� We also got in groups and put a puzzle together. Everyone started to put the puzzle together by the outside pieces of the puzzle first. This has taught me that if you put limitations on the way you learn you will only learn in that way. He has also, taught us out of the book by assigning us to write journals and to express how we feel. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| �� �My reading professor teaches in many different learning styles. In her class she has taught us how to find the main idea of a sentence or a paragraph on the overhead. We have also done exercises out of the book and vocabulary words on note cards to remember. These are examples of Visual learning styles. In her class we have also done activities on the computer this is a doing exercise. She also, goes over our vocabulary words and gives us stories to help us remember our words this is aural learning. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| ��� My HBDI results tell me that I don't learn very well in thinking learning. Therefore, I could take better notes and take them home and think about what the teacher has taught about in class. I can also get more information about what the teacher is teaching if I don't understand what the teacher is talking about in class. I can learn how to understand when the teacher is teaching using visual aids to teach. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| � ���The VARK and HBDI have helped me find out what kind of learner I am, and what way that my teachers teach, and how I can learn from them. With this, I have managed to learn the best way for me to learn information, and apply it to my classes. Now that I have taken these learning styles questionnaires and I have learned my own way of learning I can share it with people that are having problems learning. These websites also have other effective ways for you to learn. So my suggestion to you is to check it out and see if you can learn from this site like I did. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
