At St. Konstantinos Square with its Byzantine church, you will find the
Natural History Collection Museum. Inside you can wonder through the museum and admire the rare Palaeolithic fossils of extinct fauna and flora species unique not only to Greece but possibly to the whole of Europe. During excavations in the area of Vatera various fossils were found that comprise of bones from camels, elephants, rare species of giant apes, rhinoceroses, deer, antelopes, gazelles, tortoises, the most impressive of which is believed to have been about 2.5m in length (the size of a small car) and many more. The discoveries are unique and something worth seeing!
Another museum worth visiting is the Foklore Museum. It was established dy donations made by the locals and it delivers visitors with a rich filled foklore collection. It includes old tools used by farmers, tradesmen, craftsmen and everything that a household of bygone era required for daily agricultural living.
A small distance outside the village on top of a small hill stands a small castle called Paliopirgos. It was built between 1355 - 1375 A.C., probably owned by an important dignitary / landowner of the Gateluzian Period. It is considered very likely to be the only physical evidence of the old Byzantine Vrisa. The Gateluzian coat of arms is engraved in a built-in slab. When the castle was constructed the four bottom corners were intentionally removed to precipitate its fall in case the enemy ever captured it. However the castle walls still remain upright today.

The main church of Vrisa is
Zoodochos Pigi (built in 1803). The wood carved temple was installed in 1815, it depicts magnificent detail, representations from the Old and new Testament.

Another chapel,
St. Efraim that you can visit is situated 50 m outside of Vrisa on your way to Vatera. It is surrounded by shading trees and it is an ideal place to have a picnic and relax.
