For Pete's Sake
"Oh I got it!" Peter exclamied.
"What is it? What is it?" she questioned.
"Get ready to write" Micky said.
Mike got ready.
"Love is understanding" he said.
"Hey I like that!" Davy said.
"Me too" Micky said.
"Really?" he asked.
"Yeah I like it" Cass said.
"Ok let's try and not say anything else except lines" Mike said.
"Ok" they all said.
"Don't you know that this is true?" Cass supplied.
"Love is understanding" Davy said smiling.
"It's in everything we do" Micky said.
"In this generation" Mike said.
Mike was writing all of this down.
"In this lovin' time" Peter said.
"In this generation" Cass said.
"We will make the world shine" Davy said.
"We were born to love one another" Micky said.
"This is something we all need" Mike said, writing furiously.
"We were born to love one another" Peter said.
"We must be what we're going to be" Cass said.
"And what we have to be is free" Davy cried.
They all laughed.
"Hey I think we can just repeat from there" Mike said.
He wrote some more things down.
"Ok let's try and firgure out the music" Cassidy said.
They wrote all of the music and needed a name.
"Oh I got it" Cassidy said as she jumped up.
"What?" they cried in unison.
"For Pete's Sake" she said smiling.
"That's perfect" Mike said smiling.
"Ok let's hear it" Micky said.
"Yeah, let's jam!" Peter said.
They all jumped on stage. Cassidy sat next to Davy on the stage floor.
"Ready?" Mike asked.
"Yeah!" they yelled.
"Whenever you're ready Mick" Mike said.
They began to play. The words of the song meant so much to each of the writers. It summed up their feelings about the world and personal experiences that had been hurting or helping their life. When Micky stopped singing, they were all shocked by the way the song had sounded so perfect.
"That was so hip" Davy said breaking the silence.
"Yeah, just how it was supposed to be" Cassidy said smiling.
"Absolutley perfect" Peter supplied.
"You guys have to got to sing it at your next gig" she said.
"If we ever get a gig" Davy said smiling.
"You will!" she said.
"Mike you haven't said anything" Micky said.
"Just thinking" he said softly.
"About what?" he asked.
"About how that song really encompasses the ideals of the 60's" he said.
"Wow, that was heavy" Davy said.
"Real deep Mike" Micky said laughing.
"Well I do try" he said bowing.
"You are crackers" Davy said laughing.
They all started to laugh uncontrolably.
"Guys we need to get ahold of ourselves" Cassidy said inbetween giggles.
"I can't" Micky said almost crying.
After awhile the laughter died down.
"That felt good" Cassidy said smiling.
They all sat down on the couch.
"Whew...." Peter and Cassidy said in unison.
