Types of Membership                              Cost per Annum
Family   defined as a man/woman + partner +
children aged under the age of 19 or still in full
time education with full booking rights as follows:
2 Adults + 3 Children.
2 Adults + 2 Children.
2 Adults + 1 Child.
2 Adults only.


Ordinary   full adult membership.

Junior/Student   under 19 or still in ful time education, with full booking rights.

Child   under 19, still in full time education, NOT
allowed to play on peak time courts.


Restricted   adult playing only at off-peak times.

Social   non playing member.

Under 10   child under 10 with no access fob and
no advanced booking rights.

COURT BOOKING PROCEDURE
Courts can be booked by phone or in person up to 7 days in advance.
All prebooked courts must be paid for unless cancelled 48 hours before.

1934 Built as a cinema
This was very popular within the area, with queues stretching along Commercial Road
1961 Wresling was introduced
To get more money wrestling was on the agenda with names like Russell Hicks who reportedly was straight out of the outback of Australia, but Russell had lived all his life in Lepton and worked at Emley Moor Colliery with Steve Goodhands` dad
1968 Change over to Bingo
A
s audiences started to dwindle the cinema closed and bingo was introduced with double
decker busses bringing the punters in from the surrounding towns and villages
1970 Bingo finished
The building then lay dormant
1975 Squash comes to Skelmanthorpe
The partnership of Healey, Clinton & Brown bought the building and developed it into the
Savoy Squash Club
1984 Boom in squash
This lead to the building of the extension for courts 5 & 6
1986 Members take control
The club was sold to the membership to continue as the squash club we have today
