AIT Day 22
October 18th, 2002
I fucked up. I am waiting for the senior DS to come back so he can give me an article 15. That means extra duty and possibly money taken out of my paycheck.
It was something small and stupid too. In my AIT, there's a same gender battle buddy rule which states that I must have another soldier with me at all times, even with a wife or girlfriend. My girlfriend visited me today. The senior DS saw me walking her to her car without a battle buddy. BOOM. Article 15. I didn't think it would be a big deal. It would take 5 minutes. I didn't take the rule seriously enough. Now I'm fucked. No personal time or weekends for at least 14 days. I don't know what my exact punishment is yet. I do know that it's 2333, everyone else is sleeping, except me, and that I'm sitting outside the senior DS's office waiting to be handed the worse two weeks of my life. I will get NO privileges. Even when I phase next week, I'm not getting my music or clothes back. AIT is serious. Don't try to do something stupid like me. All I had to do was grab a battle buddy to walk my girl to her car. Don't break the rules. It's not worth it. I just want to rewind time and grab that battle buddy. I need a hug. I'm sleepy. I might not get that overnight pass to go home, depending on when my extra duty starts. Damn, if only I could make you feel my pain. I don't get to see my girl or parents again for a while. I get no internet time, gym, straighten my uniform, forget the rec. Damn I've been waiting an hour for this man. He started my article 15 and left.
Oh. I was wrong. I was only given a recommendation for an article 15. It will go to my DS and he will decide what to do. I'll be surprised if I don't get an article 15. They hand them out like candy. Specially now that all the people on extra duty have a few days left on it. They need someone new to cut grass, buff floors, sweep sidewalks, etc. That's why I'm sure I'll get the article 15. What a bitch.
