All About Me!

 

			Hello! My name, as you can tell from the title of this website, is Savannah. But I mostly go by my middle name, Ivy, on the internet. I'm a 17 year old, home schooled senior. Woo! I like home schooling although I wouldn't know any different since I've been home schooled since kindergarten. But it's pretty cool, I get done with school around 1pm and get to (occasionally) do school in my pajamas.   I live in Alabama with my parents, 15-year-old sister, Tara, and my cat Chloe. I also have an older sister, Holly, who is married (to my best friend's brother) and lives in Missouri. And I have a half brother who is married and has two little boys. My youngest brother Matthew, is waiting for the rest of us in heaven.
				I love doing stuff with my friends! No matter where we are or what we're doing we can always have fun. But even when things weren't so fun, my friends were right there for me every time I needed them. And I hope I'm there for you guys too.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Nicknames... I've had many over the years, not all of them good! But I'll share a few. The most recent nickname that has stuck is one Angela gave me, Savvy. Her dad (our basketball coach) calls me that as well as most of my teammates and friends. And then my family started calling me that and putting in on my Christmas presents and birthday cake! I guess it isn't that bad of a name. Other nicknames I've had are... Sammy,(from Sam on Lord of the Rings- not Angela's dog!) Sissy, Nanna, Georgia, Reb, and Shortcake.   I go to church at Fairview Baptist, and I've gone there since 2nd grade and some of my best friends also go there. I always look forward to our trip every June to The Wilds, which is a Christian camp in North Carolina. I've been 6 times and altogether those 6 weeks are the most fun and life changing times I've ever had. Our youth group always grows closer to God and each other and we come home every year on fire for God and ready to serve Him.   I love taking pictures! Then once they're developed I either frame them (My room is filled with picture frames!) or add them to my ever-growing scrapbook. I also share my pics in my photo album on this website.   Whenever I have a spare moment I love being on the computer and Internet! One of my friends calls me a computer nerd but if that's the way it is, so be it. I'm very interested in graphic and web design.   I really love to read and I wish I had more time to do it. But normally I can find or make the time before I go to bed to read for a few hours. (This can get me into trouble when I can’t wake up in the morning.) Mostly I read Christian/historical fiction or mysteries.  Some of my favorite books are... Impossible Dreamers, The First Woman Doctor, The Ishbane Conspiracy, Passport to Danger series and the Cheney Duvall, MD series. I also enjoy reading Dr. Quinn fanfiction.   When I'm not busy with all the above activities you might find me in the kitchen. I really enjoy cooking. I mostly cook desserts but I do make a pretty good lasagna! It's won several awards. =)   If you know me even just a little you'll know that I LOVE the show Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. Actually love is probably putting it lightly. My friends and family say I'm obsessed and it is probably true although I don't like using that word. I have watched this show since it first debuted on CBS in 1993 until it was so rudely canceled in 1998. The reruns started coming on the Hallmark channel a year or 2 ago and I had my friend Erin tape them because I didn't get that channel at the time. I now have all but 2 of the 142 episodes on tape, which really doesn’t matter now because they are making the show available on dvd.   I like camping and hiking(and travel in general) although I don't get to do it very often. I just love spending a few days in the "wilderness" enjoying God's beautiful creations. But I do love technology and modern conveniences so I'm always very glad to get home to my computer among other things. I love the mountains but I've only ever been to the mountains once and that was the Rockies in Colorado.
