Sabi's girls learn she is their valentine in 2006!

Sabiko is a red Shiba Inu female. She lives in Indiana with her family who volunteers with Midwest Shiba Inu Rescue At a Midwest Shiba Inu Rescue meet and greet in January, my family drove up to show off our foster Wendy and deliver her pup Preston to his new mommy. It just so happened we shared a pen with Sabiko, a red puppymill survivor who had a bad case of glaucoma and was blind in her right eye. Our family fell totally in love with her. We ended up switching fosters with Lynne..she now is fostering sweet Wendy and we took in little Sabi to get her surgery done here in Indiana at a lower cost to MSIR. To make a long story short(er), Sabiko fits in so well here and we just can't bear to think of letting her go. She is a sweet, sweet girl who woo-woos every morning and evening when their meals are being prepared or when we come home. She has been through a tough time, her right eye was removed and sutured closed, four teeth had to be extracted, and then she still had to go through her spay, but we've decided that she is our little Valentine this year and will be staying with us. So after a few years of volunteering for Midwest Shiba Inu Rescue, we actually will have our first MSIR alum!

Sabi went completely blind in May 2006 but is getting around wonderfully and is as happy as ever!
