[11:38pm]I got a phone call from Shawn of The Matches. I was at work so I didn't pick up. He left a voice mail as follows: "Hello Karen. This is Shawn from The Matches. I just wanted to say thanks for letting us send you fliers... & Big thanks from the band." Shucks. I'm smitten. Rocksome.
The Adventures of Karen & Raychel:
Karen get's off work late. The Jaxx show started at around 6. Karen gets to Rayches house at around 6. Backing out of her drive way, bam, Karen rears another car. She bails with out bothering to leave a note of any sort. Driving down 495, following faulty map quest directions, shit, we missed our exit. So we take the next exit. Tried to get from the far right lane to the far left lane to make a u-turn that would have been illegal anyways. Bam! Hit again. Side swiped & ricochet of each other. Front left headlights busted. I took the blame to avoid a court case. I talked to the guy, he said it would be okay if I just pay pocket money instead of it getting to insurance. He was understanding. End note: I got gang banged like bad karma. I should have left that note the first time around.
I'm young. I'm stupid. I know it.
So everything makes sense now. I date car mechanics because the last time I checked, I'm a female asian driver & subconsciously, sterotypically speaking, I'm a terrible driver. Theory goes, asian cars are good quality sturdy cars because, again sterotypically speaking, we are driving disasters.
That night at Jaxx. Only 1 (Swaythe) of the 3 bands we stayed for was actually decent. While handing out fliers for The Matches show, meet two random guys. Ended up at some after party at decent bands house with the random guys meet. I played foosball the whole hour or so we were there. It was fun. Another not wasted night.
My day went from the best to worst to absolutely all right within hours.
