- B. The Israeli legislature (The Knesset) passes a law that inhibits joining controversial or political minority organizations:
- 1) The Knesset passed the Amutot Law of 1980, which inhibits people from joining controversial or political minority organizations because it requires by law all such organizations to make available to all their membership (and by extension any undercover government agent) the complete membership roles of the organization including all of the members' contact information.
Thus if anyone is nervous about being associated with such organizations for fear of problems at work, or for their family, then they would not feel free to join these organizations. Thus their freedom of association has been interfered with.

Right to establish amuta. |
1. Two or more persons who wish to incorporate as a body corporate for a lawful purpose not aimed at the distribution of profits to its members may establish an amuta (non-profit society). An amuta shall be constitued by registration in the Register of Amutot. |
Restrictions as to registration of amuta. |
3. An amuta shall not be registered if any of its objects negates the existence or democratic character of the State of Israel or if there are reasonable grounds for concluding that the amuta will be used as a cover for illegal activities. |
Register of
members. |
18. An amuta shall keep a register of members in which every member, his address and identity number and the dates of the commencement and termination of his membership shall be recorded. |

board members. |
29. An amuta shall keep a register of board members in which the name, address and identity number and the dates of commencement and termination of service of each member shall be recorded. |
Inspection. |
39.
- (a) The register of members and the register of board members, the minutes of the general meetings and the financial reports submitted to the general meeting shall at any reasonable time be open for inspection by all the members of the amuta.
