Our Aim
Since the trend of decolonisation after WWII, many counties in Africa have entered a state of instability, usually resulted from civil wars.

Congo is an example of instability. The civil war has lasted for 5 years from 1998 to 2003, and 2 more before this after the decolonization. Although it seemed to have ended and a transitional government was set up, conflict continues. Recently a truce stopped the fighting and a first ever free election has been held, however many people are not satisfied with the result and conflicts continue.

Another example is Sudan. In 1984, it is estimated that the civil war killed over 1.5million of Sudanese. Now Sudan is a dictatorial state where the President who came to power through a military coup in 1989 and since then held all the power in his hands. In 1994 it was reported that many people died of ethnic cleansing and cruxification of pastors. Apart from civil wars and ethnic cleansings, people also died of famine. The instability is not over yet. The Sudan government has been fighting a civil with rebel groups which resulted in many deaths. Although a peace deal was signed in May between the Sudan government and one of the rebel groups, the situation deteriorated since then and conflicts continue
.
There have been proposals of sending a U.N. peacekeeping force into Darfur but the Sudan Government has always refused the suggestion. Let us hope that the conflict will stop soon.
