What is LNG?
Liquified natural gas (LNG) is natural gas super cooled to -265F. As the gas cools it becomes a cyrogenic liquid occupying 600 times less volume than natural gas. This allows the gas to be stored more efficiently in limited spaces and transported by ship or truck. A single tanker ship can carry enough LNG to meet the needs of approximately 10 million households. At the import terminal, LNG  becomes a gas by "regasification", heating of the liquid. It then enters pressurized pipelines and is delivered to consumers.
