John 14:2 & 3

In My Fathers house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and recieve you unto Myself, that where I AM, there you may be also.

Death is a strange thing for us to get used to . The problem with death...it is so final. On September 16 th, 1998. I lost a very close friend. I avoid funerals they are not my favorite place. But sometimes you have to tighten your belt, square your shoulders and go to the funeral home. She looked so peacful, it was a beautiful funeral. She was an Evangelist to the end. As she had requested; the Pastor have an alter call at the close. Two of her family memebers answered the Holy Spirits tugging at thier hearts. There was a deep closeness to heaven felt by every person there. Some even expressed a longing for home. I have never understood how your heart can hunger and long for a place you have not been to, it can and does. Heaven is our home and our hearts know it.

Man s wisdom says death is it, the end. My dear friend is not on vacation. She is not here anymore, her home is, her cloths are, her job, her car, even her husband is. But she is not. For a couple months after her funeral I had to remind myself ..... she s not here. I had found a terrific sale at my favorite store, I had dialed several numbers before I remembered, she s not here! We miss those we loose, (maybe we should spend more time caring and loving them while they are with us ).

Then He reminds me of something more. He has prepared a place for us....with our Father! Her place was ready, the preparing was complete. It was time to head on home. No more pain, sorrow, worry, depression, fears, all the negative stuff was over. I wonder what her mansion looks like? Do they have great places to shop, get a slice of pizza maybe. I will definitly look her up and spend some time telling her all the things I should have said . But first, I have to find someone else, the mansion can wait too. When my place is complete and its time to go home, the first person I want to see...is the Lord Jesus! To much is taken for granted, appreciation for things done go un - spoken. And the very first thing I must do, is thank the One who made my mansion, who died such a terrible death on a cross for me! Oh yea, I can now, but I am looking forward to doing so in person, face to face. I have so much to tell Him!
