They have controlled storm water run-off, identified all drainage areas that run into bay waters, created innovative education programs and won awards. The conservation easement program is actively managed, not just put into a drawer and forgotten about.
Anne Arundel County seems to be perpetually focused inland and on growth. Yes, some programs exist but they are under funded and given little staff resources. Why? Few economic incentives exist to pay attention. For the county, it’s all about economic growth and the next sub-division.
