Famine

The morose siege of drought forecasts a dark despair,
The farmers legacy beset by hardships plight.
Fields of golden maze, dry brittle in rainless air.
As a mighty Nation, suffers an eerie blight.
Once prosperous fields, are consumed by barren dust
The remnants of a hopeful future now decay.
A Kingdom under siege, by starvations lust,
malcontented hearts fall victim to disarray.
The innocence of youth, beset with hungry eyes,
bare witness unto, a merciless prophecy
Sullen faces and frail bodies, surely testify,
to the casualties of natures victory
A cavalcade of sinners, trudge to heavens gate,
Demanding our Lord to release their hell bound fate.
