If I Could Be a Dragonfly

If I could be a dragonfly,
Id blaze a trail across the sky.
Id zig and zag, stop and hover,
Dive-bomb your head as you take cover.

Id dart and zoom, juke and dive,
Four wings a flutter so alive.
Buzz your ears with 4-speed power,
Sip nectar from a blooming flower.

Id play shadow tag with the sun,
Fly figure eights just for fun.
Id take a New York City tour,
Fly night and day and still want more.

Id whoosh past meadows, whiz by fields,
Go like a bullet dodging car windshields.
Id flit and dash, rush and scurry,
Watch the world pass by and never worry.

Id whirl around all afternoon,
Rocket skyward circling the moon.
Id set a pace with high velocity,
Soaring fast and feeling free.

Id take a Northern course, really hustle,
Make a U-turn for a southbound bustle.
Id plummet low then go sky high,
Oh how I wish I were a dragonfly.
