Conspiracy of the Gods

Ye Gods, perhaps they do conspire,
Contemplating selfish prophesies.
Poseidon will sabotage our desire,
Unleashing his torrent rage upon the seas.

Dionysus, at times, will curse the vine,
Perhaps to toy with our affections,
Hermes thievery, steals all things divine,
Our jewelry. Our gold. Our recollections.

Apollos Oracle contains a prophecy,
Our destiny rests within his hands.
The Goddess Demeter, possesses fertility,
Ruling garden, husbandry, and land.

Aphrodite, blessed with wholesome beauty,
Shes the Goddess of love and tender passions.
Hephaestus, Smith of Heaven, has a duty,
Bronze armor, and, sculpture he must fashion.

Athena, Goddess of Warriors, Craft and Wisdom,
Lends strength, as her olive harvest grows.
Hades rules the underworld gruesome,
Cerberus does his bidding, to repay the debt he owes.

The God of War will sanctify your palace,
Ares dragon, and, fierce warriors guard our town
The huntresses of Artemis strike with malice,
Providing sustenance as predators are struck down.

Zeus rules the earth and heaven wielding power.
Thunder and lightning streaks the stormy skies.
And though our future prospects may seem dour.
No immortal could come between, you and I.
