A Collision of Hearts

I tossed a quarter in a wishing well,
With your image on my mind.
I gazed into a crystal ball,
Just to see what I would find.

I consulted tarot cards and rune stones,
Left a gypsy read my palms.
Knelt in church upon the Sabbath,
And read the book of psalms.

I called Cleo on the telephone,
Looking for a psychic clue.
Spent forty dollars in ten minutes,
And learned the girl I loved was you.

What I learned came not, from Cleo,
Nor from a wish, or in the psalms,
It wasnt floating in a crystal ball,
Nor in the love lines of my palms.

The tarot cards, and rune stones,
Held not, one single clue.
But on the day our hearts collided,
My hopes and dreams came true.
