Comments: All right now.... My favorite guitar player is Criss Oliva and I really miss his playing too. Being that Im a guitar player I know exactly what you were getting at when you were talking about the stuff that was missing. I sometimes can hear what I think he would have done with a song if he had played on it. But I still love Savatage and everything they have done. I think DWD is amazing, same with TWOM. I think it was a bit unfair to knock Savatage the way you did, would rather have had Savatage call it quits? How about Chris Caffery? He's awesome, Criss definitly rubbed off on him. I think Chris' playing is a very important part of the group. Like Jon and Criss, his playing IS Savatage. -Matt

Comments: Hi! I am a semipro guitarist and get caught by Criss' playing in 1985 I think, via POWER OF THE NIGHT. I thought the music amazing, and liked very much Criss' skills and inventiveness. Today I think the only thing I dont like very much is the guitar tone (kind of weak to me, maybe it was recorded without doubling the parts). Criss is like Frank Marino ou Alvin Lee...cases of great, but sadly underrated players... Congratulations for the site, and go on keeping Criss memory and legacy alive!

Comments: Many great musicians have left us by accidents of untimely nature. Many of them are never recognized for their contributions. It is sad when some sick jerk, ( K C ), takes his life and receives recognition as a hero. What a joke! I remember Chris and appreciate his talent. Jerry S.
