ALL FIZZED OUT

7:15 P.M.

"I'm gunning down romance….it never did a thing for me…"

D.H. and D.J. were having the time of their lives being Savage Garden. No one in the audience suspected a thing, but the back-up band noticed something odd.

"Is it just me, or does Darren sound a little robotic?" pondered Elisa, one of the three back-up singers.

"He does sound a little weird," responded Anna-Maria, the other back-up singer. "Daniel seems very stiff as well…"

"They're probably just tired, after all that rehearsals," said Angie, the last back-up singer. "Everything's gonna be okay." She wasn't quite right though, as D.H. felt a little weak.

"Oh great," said D.H. to himself, looking at his hand, which was flashing a bright red. "I need a recharge!" He showed a weak smile of desperation at D.J., and D.J. got the message.

"We'll be right back!" announced D.H. as the curtains closed. D.J. brought D.H. to a chair filled top-to-toe with gadgetry. D.H. placed his hands into the arm-rest and relaxed as he felt a strong surge of electricity pass through his body. Meanwhile, D.J. was checking the wiring on his arms to see if any repairs were necessary.

"Hey D.J., why don't we check on our prisoners?" suggested D.H.

"Good idea," replied D.J. "Let's go." They both walked towards a thick curtain, concealing a dark, dingy room. They saw Darren and Daniel sleeping on the surface with Leonie and Nina guarding them.

"Ah good, they're in no trouble," said D.H. "Not for long anyway…" Just then they heard someone shouting behind them.

"Oh, but for you it's coming soon!"

D.H. and D.J. turned around and were shocked at what they saw. Darren and Daniel had escaped, and them, together with Leonie and Nina were coming towards the robotic duo.

"How did you escape?" said D.J. in surprise.

"We've got our ways," sniggered Daniel. "Now stop trying to hoodwink all those people or else YOU will get it!"

"Get what, you wimps?" jeered the robots. "A groan?" The Savage Garden duo was so incensed by that remark that they began to fight against their clones. The fight was on the robots' side though, as Darren and Daniel were thrown onto the ground.

"Don't ever underestimate us!" warned D.H. "And don't ever TRY to challenge us again!"

"Or else be prepared for annihilation," continued D.J. as he and his partner walked out the room. Leonie and Nina walked towards their friends to see how they were doing.

"Oh my God, are you all right?" asked a concerned Nina.

"Yeah - sort of," replied Darren, struggling to get up. "The fight isn't over though!"

"There's still a chance," continued Daniel. "Let's get to the stage immediately!"

"STAGE?" asked the others. "But why?"

"We have to stop those robot clones from hypnotising the audience," explained Daniel. "The only way to do this is to halt the concert."

"And how do you plan to do this, Daniel Jones?" asked a cynical Darren. "They could be hypnotised by now!"

"Will you give me a chance?!" yelled Daniel. He told his plan to the others, and all of them ran towards the stage…before it was too late.
