Release Me
back

Joe: Rarely in my travels have I come across such a monumental talent as Stumpus Maximus. Stumpus comes for strong Welsh singing stock and, in fact, is the brother of the legendary “Morty” of '70s sensation Racin cars. Anyway, we ditched his backing group and formed the “Good Ol’ Boys” just for the occasion. In case you wanted to know, I willingly gave up the mike just to play piano. Hope you all enjoy it. Rock on, Stumpus!

Malvin Mortimer (Stumpus Maximus), Def Leppard's tour manager, sang lead on the track, backed up by our own dear Leppards (The Good Ole boys). you can hear not only the odd belch now and then, but also all of the boys in the background literally breaking down in laughter, rolling on the floor.
Can you believe this track actually charted? Great fun!
Hey please release me, let me go
And for I don't love you anymore
To waste our lives would be a shame
And release me and let me love again
Oh I have found a new love dear
And I will always want her near
Her lips are warm while yours are cold
And release me my darling let me go, ah

Please release me, let me go
And for I don't love you anymore
And to live our lives would be a shame
And so release me and let me love again

Hmmmmm, ladadadadadadaaaa
Hmmmmm, ladadadadadadadadadadaaaa
Ahhhh, ladadadadaa, ooohhh
Wahhhhhhh, ladadadadadadadadadaaa

So please release me, let me go
And for I don't love you anymore
And to live our lives would be a shame
And so release me and let me love again

Hey please release me, stand up
And for I don't love you anymore
To live, *belch* excuse me, would be a shame
And so release me and let me love again
So release me and let me love again
Let me go, let me go
