This application will measure and analyze bandwidth. One can use this application to find out bandwidth for their Internet connection as well as any incoming bandwidth that the client machine is connected to. Bandwidth will be measured based on service type (Dial-up network, ISDN, DSL, CABLE etc.) that user provides. Data produced off of these different tests will be populated into database and later will be used to analyze connection speeds and to generate statistical reports.

3.      Project Name: Network Monitoring System

Description:

The Network Monitoring system is basically used by the Internet Service Providers to check whether the connection to the customers is active or not. The Customer connection line may be disconnected due to many reasons such as noise in the communication medium or due to any technical problem. To provide the graphical user interface, using which the Network Monitor can easily check the status of individual connections and take some appropriate steps depending upon the status of the connection. If the client’s line is inactive then there is an option where in the network monitor can mail or send an SMS to the client notifying him the type of failure after the connection is resumed. This system also maintains log of each client’s connection status like bandwidth utilized, active time, etc.
