History
Palvancha or Paloncha was a principle town in Kakatiya and Golconda Kingdoms.
Till our independance Paloncha was a major Samsthan in Hyderabad state
ruled by Nawabs. The Great bhakti lyricist
Bhakta Rama Dasu
belonged to this region. He built the present Bhadrachala Ramalayam by
spending the money meant for the development of Paloncha Tahasil.
General:
Palvancha is principally an important Industrial Centre in the
State. Palvancha is a Mandal Headquarter, and a principle Revenue and Forest
Divisional headquarter. State Highway No.12 passes via Paloncha. It is
a well planned and maintained Muncipality in the state having a population
of approximately One lakh. It is a peaceful town with high literacy rate.
This town experiences severe whether conditions, it touches 48o
C in Summer, Heavy rainfall during Aug-Oct and a Low night temperature of
12o C in winter. Reserve forest of 5 kms stretch separates the
Palwancha from another principal town and Singareni Collorries Headquarters,
Kothagudem . The multipurpose
Kinnerasani Dam is also
very near to here (12 kms). Kinnersani is also famous for its wild life,
it is a notified Sanctury.
