Indian Society and Culture

India is the land of first civilized man. Land of peace. One can find the "Unity in Diversity" here. India is having 25 states representing either different languages or cultures. And out of India's present population of 1000 million plus apart from 750 million Hindus, 200 million Muslims and 100 million Christians and others religion practicing people are living in peace and harmony for centuries.

India is the land of Lord Rama, Krishna, Gautama Buddha, Mahavira, Mahatma Gandhi who are the synonyms for peace, liberty and equality. Father of Nation and "Man of the Milliniem" Gandhiji succeeded in getting independence to India by practicing Non_voilence., from the power thristy Britishers.

Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism are the three great religions born in this land. Vedas represents the "Inner Knowledge". They are in four parts namely : Rig veda, Yajurveda, Sama veda and Adharvana veda". They explain the methods of performing various kratus and vaidikakarma's. They are written in Sanskrit, the language of Gods.

Lord Rama, Krishna, Siva, Durga, Kali, Laxmi, Sarsvathi, Gayatri, Ganesha and Surya (Sun) are prinicipal dieties in India. Each avatara of God gives a message to the society. Hinduism explains the Oneness of God. God comes down to earth with an Avatara to eliminate an evil and ensure the peace on the earth, and people started to worship the God in those shapes. Woman has great respect in India.

The great alternative medicine Ayurveda is the gift to all humanity from India. Yoga, the answer to all tension, work-pressure and depression.
