ii) Job description: The main thrust of work was on consultancy services and research investigations. The following research investigations as per IRRI programmes were completed during the tenure of Fellowship:
(i) Spatial correlation study on IRRI uniformity trial yield-data on rice.
(ii) Comparison of efficiency of the method of detrending with the classical method of blocking under non-existence of treatment effects using non-random IRRI yield data on rice.
(iii) Determination of appropriate modular representation of the non-additivity component existing in data collected from field trials and green house experiments carried out under randomised block structure at IRRI.
Field of specialization: Major area - Design of Experiments; Sub-major - Biometry, Genetical Statistics, Sample Survey, Spatial Analysis and Distribution, Modelling by parametric, non-parametric and semi-parametric methods, Regression Diagnostics, Outlier Theory

Best Paper Award
The paper entitled “Analysis and connectedness of four dimensional designs” (with V. Katyal) published in the Journal of Indian Society of Agricultural Statistics (1991) received the Best Paper award in the field of Design of Experiments by Indian Society of Agricultural Statistics.
