Islam plays an essential fragment in my concept of Unty of Faith,when I studyed Islam I noticed a remarkable similarity in Islam and Shakta Hinduism (the Hindu sect of the Matriarch)

To a common man Both theese religions are a world appart on the contrary they are contradictory but to the enlightened they are the same. The message of Islam and Hinduism has always remained same. Islam and Hinduism differ on Polythesim and Idol Worship but what is not known is Hinduism never induges in Idolisation, They indulge in Personification ie the Celebration of One God througgh his Various Aspects without disaproving the supreme formless manifestation of God. You will see that in Shakta hinduism there are thousands of different godesses but the key chanting and invokations are the same. There is a very famous chanting where the Goddess is adressed as Ya Devi, similar to Ya Allah in Muslim Prayers. The Holy Book of the Goddess is called the Bhagwat Puran (Holy Puran) while the Muslims call Allah's Book the Holy Quran. Both having the day of Friday auspicious in the week.
Sufism and Bhakti movement have the same concept of reaching God and attaining Unity with it in Chating and getting into a Trance. The Concept of Karma in Hindusim and Rebirth is echoed in Islam in the form of Redemption and Retribution. While Dharma is the Islamic concept of Duties and Responsibilities through our actions and through Charaties.
The idea of Caste system is always been a key to show conflict in Hinduism but I being a Brahmin myself renounce such vices as we all are born equal and we all die equal. Caste system is a social and racial prejeduce that crosses all boundries, In Europe and North America Blacks were Looked down because of their color inspite both being christians and in Middile east and in South Asia Shia Muslims are often looked down upon by sunni muslims inspite both the comunities being muslim. Similarly it also existed in Hinduism but that didnt make Hinduism bad just misunderstood.
Most of the Biblical Stories of the Quran are similar to that of Hindus. Abrahim was put on Fire to test his Faith so was Prahlad in Hindu Mythology who was a staunch devotee of Vishnu and is clebrated as buring of Holika during Holi. Similarly the story of First Man Adam and Huwa - Manu and Sharda, and the great story of the great Flood. The co-incidence is remarkable for an ammeture like me to see I am surprised to see such wise people who instead of living is Harmony over the vast similarities bickerly fight over the small Differences in both sides of the divide. |
