Cell is one of Dr. Gero's creations. He is a combination of cells from many great warriors suck as Goku,Vegetta and Piccolo and because of this, has immense power. When he is fully matured in the future he kills Trunks so he can take his time machine, in order to find #17 and #18 (who are gone at the time) so he can absorb them and become stronger. When he absorbs both of them, he will be complete and be in his perfect form. Because he is too big to fit into the time machine he goes back to an embryo, then goes to the past and grows for about 20 years, and then is reborn. He battles the Z warriors for a while but eventually absorbs the two androids. The now perfect Cell fights with Vegeta and Trunks, who have become much stronger after training in the room of spirit and time. Cell is amazed how much stronger Trunks had become in such a short amount of time and asks if he could get stronger. Shortly after,
Cell decides to hold a tournament in 10 days similar to the Tenkaichi Budoukai. He invited anyone who thought they could defeat him to attend the tournament. Cell is eventually defeated by Gohan, who is the first one to reach Super-Saiyan level 2 after being provoked by #16's death. Cell has three stages of transformation. In the first stage he looks very similar to an insect. The second stage is very similar to the first, except he is much more muscular. In the final stage his face looks much more human and he is purple and green. After being hit extremely hard by Gohan, he releases #18. Then becomea very enraged and engages a self-destruct mechanism so that he cab kill everybody and blow up earth, but Goku teleports himself as well as cell to King Kai's planet where cell blows up there and takes Gokou , King Kai, Bubbles, and the bee guy with him, but earth and the others survive. But... Cell some how survived his own destruction, so he comes back to earth in his perfect form and is stronger that ever. Eventually, after much anguish and pain, Gohan manages to defeat cell, Horaay!!!
