According to Ustazah Sarijah Bejo from Jakim, Jakim tidak ada menerima permohonan dari Delifrance untuk diluluskan "HALAL". Feel free to contact JAKIM for confirmation. So now we know, thus it is time to tell other Muslims. Better to be safe than sorry. According to somebody who has worked part time in delifrance a few years back, the baguette cannot be eaten as the oven used is also used to cook the ham & cheese croissant & pizza with ham. Well the muffin has no contact with the grille of the oven but contain gelatine as a gelling agent. The only bread that you can eat are the "patong" bread, like the focchocia, wheat,basically the one that are plastic wrap from the factory. The sultana croissant, tuna & chicken fillette, cannot be eaten as the brush for the egg wash is also used to "paint" the ham & cheese croissant. As for drinking coffee, the cups & saucer will come into contact with the ham during washing. The utensil that are used to prepare the sandwiches also come into contact with pork. The apricot gel that are used to glaze the tart contains gelatine. Basically you cannot eat at Delifrance.
