Format Meetings are always casual as befits a club that meets on Saturday morning. There is always hot coffee, food and fellowship ready and waiting for you. All the terms and roles for the meeting are explained following the schedule. Guests are invited, but not required, to participate in the meeting. Roles The roles of the meeting are rotated among member to allow them to learn, develop and practice the skills involved in each role. The roles include: Toastmaster—the “Master of Ceremonies” who plans and hosts the program. Ah Counter—Helps speakers improve by helping them to become aware of verbal crutches. Grammarian—Provides a Word of the Day and listens for good and bad uses of the English language. Timer—Keeps track of the speech time for speakers. Table Topics Master—Introduces the theme for the day and poses the questions as impromptu opportunities.. Table Topics Speakers—Present a 1-2 minute impromptu responses to Table Topic questions. Prepared Speakers—Prepare and deliver assigned speeches from the Toastmaster guide manuals. Evaluators—Review of the prepared speeches to point out strengths and opportunities for improvement. General Evaluator— Presents the Evaluators and evaluates the meeting, |
