Mary Chase wins South Division Table Topics Championship
________________________________________ Congratulations to Mary Chase,
winner of South Division Table Topics Competition. Mary competed in several
Table Topics competions over the past few months and ended up taking the
championship for the South Division. She is truly a gifted speaker and
was also recently appointed as Saturday Sunrise club President.

Meeting Minutes
Last months second meeting was another success, it was great to see
everyone come out during the Memorial Day weekend. Helen served as Toastmaster
and did a great job. Pamela had us falling out of our chairs with the joke
of the day. Armando gave the word of the day - Assimilate, Mary read a
great poem for the thought for the day which then set the stage for her
Table Topics. Michael was voted the best table topic speaker. Dave gave
a few tips for barbecuing for the tip of the day. Armando brought some
cookies for the break, which were enjoyed by all. For our prepared speeches,
we had an excellent lineup, starting with Michael giving his speech #4
on Baseball and Babe Ruth. Michael also informed us that he has a baby
due in the next few weeks. Congratulations Michael!! Will gave a very interesting
speech #7 on "What the Earl of Sandwich Didn't Know". Mary blew us all
away with her speech #8 titled "My Biggest Fan". The meeting concluded
with the Officer elections. Congratulations to the incumbents, we wish
you success in your new positions. |
