Welcome to the Saturday Sunrise News. This newsletter is written by the members of the Saturday Sunrise Toastmasters club 8206. Barb Hunt Gets the Gold ________________________________________ Congratulations to Barbara Hunt, who recently completed a Club Success Leadership Module on Parliamentary Procedure at her workplace which resulted in her earning the Toastmasters ATM Gold award. Barb has been involved with Toastmasters over 10 years and her knowledge and experience is an asset to the Saturday Sunrise club. She currently serves as the clubs Vice-President of Education. 
 
 
Meeting Minutes
Our June 14th meeting was great. We had two guests present - Benjamin and Michael, Benjamin decided to join the club and scheduled his first speech for the next meeting. Welcome Benjamin, glad to have you as a member in our club. We hope to see Michael return for this months meetings also. Helen served as Toastmaster of the meeting. Barb told a hilarious joke about the fellow who quit drinking. Armado offered the Tip of the Day on extension cords. Dave gave the Word of the Day - diligent. Pamela had the thought for the day on Fathers. Will conducted the Table Topics session on summer activities and our newest member - Benjamin won best Table Topic speaker. We had two prepared speeches Armado gave his Speech #4 on his assimilation of the US lifestyle and how he adapted to the differences from life in Mexico. Dave gave his Speech #6 on the job of a Maintenance Electrician.

For our June 28th meeting, Will served as Toastmaster and did a great job. Pamela told us a joke about change coming from within. Armando gave the word of the day - desultory, Walt gave the thought for the day on sharing. Dave gave some 4th of July firework tips. Barb led us through Table Topics with a Summer Activities theme. Barb also brought some delicious homemade treats for the break. For our prepared speeches, Benjamin gave us his Speech #1, To the Next Level, which was his introduction to the club where he talked about his vision of his pursuit of happiness. Armado presented Speech #5 with a story of John Lennon, Barb gave us a very informative advanced speech on Setting Goals in Toastmasters.

Congratulations to Michael Wilson and family who recently had a baby girl, Elena Janelle Wilson on June 8. She weighed in at 6-lbs. 1 oz 19-1/2".

Congratulations to Will whose speech, What the Earl of Sandwich Didn't Know, was accepted for publishing by the Newspaper Syndicate.
