Family: A mother, Isabella Dufrin- Holder, who strongly disapproves of her career. Her father was the one who allowed the Shang to take her. Jorge Holder kind of wishes she was a boy because her elder brother is such a pansy. Her mother wishes she had a beautiful and poised daughter instead. Her baby sister has just turned three, she is called Elissa. Isabella harbours secret hopes that she will be the perfect child since the other two were so disappointing. Rye�s elder brother is called Chase. He is very foppish, intelligent, and feminine. He has the gift, and is studying to become a healer.
She crosses dresses every now and again, if there is something that requires her to appear male, if she needs a disguise, or .. occasionally just because she feels like it. It is very difficult to pick up that she is not an androgynously feminine man, because her body shape and personality lend themselves to impersonating men well. Personality: Ryain is .. strong willed, to put it nicely. She�s basically quite bossy, obnoxious, in your face, but annoyingly clever and frequently right. She hates to be wrong with a passion. Rye will truly throw herself into anything she�s attempting, but also into anything anyone else is attempting. She just likes to be �doing- things. However, if she doesn�t like/ want to do something, not much will make her budge on the topic. She often uses her size and fists to speak for her. She�s a raging lesbian, and about as out as it�s possible to be in Corus. It�s very hard for someone to change her opinion of something or someone once it�s formed. She nearly always thinks she�s right. A natural leader, with a mischievous streak, she tends to get in and out of trouble with ease, but can look after herself.. She likes to irritate people, and a lot of the time does it on purpose, mostly because she doesn�t really care what they can do to her, and believes she will always be able to take care of herself. She has a curious and inquisitive nature, and likes to know how things work. She can often be found taking thing�s apart. However, she�s easily distracted and therefore leaves scattered stuff all over the places.
She detests weakness in any form, whether it be disability, physical, mental, or something else she perceived
She is very strong willed, but also highly disciplined, stemming from her training. She likes to surround herself with other physically and mentally strong people who she can both compete with and rely on for support (although heaven forbid she would admit to needing support)
Rye can seem emotionless or cold hearted, since she is infinately detached most of the time. She has few real friends, and most of her aquaintances she can and will shed without any regret should it be necessary.
She likes to be in charge, and often has issues obeying what she sees as 'orders'. She is insubordinate until the 'leader' has proven themselves many times over, and even then she tends to be less than trusting in other skills.
Because she has been disappointed several times by people close to her, she is very self sufficient, and on the off chance that someone sees her in a vulnerable state, she can get very offish and arsey the next time she sees them,
Likes: her father, her baby sister, milk, milky coffee, winning, fighting, the insides of things, escaping. Lying on her back in the middle of a field. Women.
Dislikes: Being too hot, fish, white meat, weak people, the inept, the stupid, the foolish overly feminine girls, her mother. Chocolate, pink, lacy and flowery stuffs. . Being constricted.
History: She grew up away from her family, being trained by the Shang. Her father kept in contact with her religiously, but her mother seldom bothered. Since she finished her training she has only been home four times. She assumes she will rove all her life and achieve nothing and everything. She�s quite content with this idea, and doesn�t hesitate to tell people she plans to travel and never marry if they ask.
The training she went through was rigorous and tough, and sculpted her into who she is today. It is likely that was she not taken by the shang, she would have run away at a fairly young age to escape her mother who would have tried to put her in dresses and the like
Her mentor, the Shang Badger, was murdered in an stealth style attack fronted with lead tipped arrows. Rye recieved a serious injury which took a while to heal, but was left with an aversion to being constrained in anyway. She's not the type to get emo or angsty, and was not really affected by his death apart from to the extent of hunting down those responsible.
