In this opus, we tried to rhyme,
Words we've heard, so many times.
We don't want to seem pompous or unfocused,
So we decided to write the Everyman's Opus.
I went to a really hip school,
There was a girl there, who I thought was cool.
I asked this girl out, she said, "Maybe,"
I really wanted her to be my baby.
I'd say, "Baby, I love you,
Is it true? Do you love me too?"
You and me, we'll go on a date,
I'll pick you up at 8, I won't be late.
Women are from Venus, men are from Mars,
I guess our relationship was written in the stars.
I want to always be by your side,
So come on girl, and be my bride.
So baby doll, what'll it be,
Is there going to be a you and me?
There's only one thing I'll ask of you,
Don't ever be replaced by Elizabeth Shue.
