56' 34" is the name and length of the experimental BEN FLASH AND HIS BOYISH GOOD LOOKS album now available for free download exclusively on mp3.com. This album consists of a one-take recording session performed by Ben, Mark, and Mike at 12:30 am, the morning of Sunday, January 7, 2001 in Mike's basement. And there aren't any songs here, so get over it.
56' 34" is intended to be a free gift from BEN FLASH AND HIS BOYISH GOOD LOOKS to all of our friends and fans. No money should be exchanged for any of the music/noise on this album.
Feel free to download our mp3 files onto CD, share the tracks with friends on Napster, play them on the radio, feed them to your pets...whatever.
For casual listeners, I recommend the option "listen to all tracks: lo-fi," at the top of the song list. This option will play all the album tracks in order, in streaming audio (If you're unfamiliar, this means that you listen directly from the internet, rather than save files onto your computer). This option is the easiest way to hear the entire album with minimal pauses. You may need to download Real Player 8 basic from www.real.com to do this. Just download the free player, and you'll be good.
You also can download the mp3 files onto your computer and listen to them even when you are off the internet. This option gives you the best sound quality, but could take awhile, especially if your computer has a modem connection. If you have never downloaded mp3 files before, you will need some way to play them. I recommend Music Match, which works with Windows or Mac computers. They'll hook you up.
If you don't have time to listen to the entire album, don't start at the beginning. Skip around, and hear samples, because the best stuff is all over the place. The little cover art picture should be next to every track; whether there is a picture has nothing to do with how good the track is.
IF ANYTHING DOESN'T WORK, check the help section of whatever website you are trying to use, and make sure your computer has all the stuff it needs. I dont know very much about computer audio at all, so 99% of the time, asking me is no help. However, if you discover that you can get some tracks to play and not others, be sure to contact me at [email protected] so I can re-upload whatever file doesn't work.
