The new staff of the UP College of Mass Communication's official publication, Tinig ng Plaridel, is back for business after being gone from the academic limelight for two years. With the new set of staff, will the student's paper live up to its former glory?
The release of the paper's latest version was met with much apprehension by Journalism majors, however the rest of the college's denizens met the first issue with mixed feedbacks. Some, especially the freshies and sophies, are quite confused since TNP has not had any issue out since their first day in the college.
The paper is spearheaded by new Editor-in-Chief Sophia Balod, a Journalism major, along with a staff of both Journalism and Broadcast Communication majors. The latest issue concerned itself with the recently held University Student Council elections as well as the local CMC Student Council elections.
The coverage of the elections was extensive, however understaffing is still a problem. Besides holding reporter stints in TNP, many of the staff members are also part of the online publication of the Journalism department: UP Journ.net
Hoepfuly the new TNP will live up to its mission of providing objective and relevant news to the CMC populace.
