Personality Tests

I find myself obsessed with quizzes. As long as they're quizzes that I can't fail at. I've taken IQ tests before, but then when I find that people did better than me, I start to worry about whether or not I really am smart, and get in this huge panic. But personality quizzes, well, that's another story.

I take them because, like everyone else, I want to know what objects I'm like. I've found out what Crayola color I am (mahogany, I think), what dog breed characteristics I take on (golden retriever), what band I would be (sum 41), and who my rockstar boyfriend would be (thank God, Tom DeLonge).

Even on the most boring of boring days, personality tests make things interesting. I think everyone is familiar with thespark.com, which is famous for it's ridiculous Bitch Test, Slut Test, Gay Test, Gender Test, etc. They're pretty weird, and I feel very stupid taking them. I prefer emode.com, which has more mature tests, like What Career Should You Have? and What Candy Heart Are You? I like these tests because they're less perverted and I can actually apply them.

However, even though I spend hours on these tests, hoping that they will reveal soomething I never knew about myself, I always cheat. I want to be a certain way, I don't want to get a stupid result. I mean, if I'm taking the dog breed test, and it asks "Which do you prefer doing: Sitting around eating; playing in the yard; or sleeping?" obviously I'm going to pick playing in the yard. I don't want to end up being a pug or shih tsu.

Don't even act like you've never taken a personality test and cheated.

I hate tests that tell you what you could end up being before you even take the test. I mean, I took a What Band Are You? test and it said "You could be Incubus, Blink 182, Sum 41, Radiohead..." etc, so naturally I searched the options for hints at what band I'd prefer to be. The stupidest question I've ever read is: "If you were to write a song, which of these lyrics would you most likely write?" and the options were lyrics straight from their popular songs.

But I think I'm gonna go look for more tests at emode.

And guys, what is so impressive about Brandy? I don't like her. She's not pretty either. Carson always goes on and on about her on TRL, but I've never liked her. ("Full Moon" is a stupid catchy song too. It was just on.)
