Guitar Distress

You might think that someone with such strangely long fingers would be at ease when playing the guitar. Yet I still find myself crying over the fact that I just can't play well.

Sure, it's only been 2 months. And professionals have been playing for years. But honestly, I thought this would be easier. I'm even finding Blink 182 songs difficult. And it's safe to say that their tabs are not complicated.

I have been sitting here for a little while trying to play Adam's Song, which is my favorite song by them. I can start it off ok, with the "duh nu nu, duh nu nu" thing. Then I have to try and stretch my fingers across just three frets into an uncomfortable position for 12 beats, then jump back over to the first "duh nu nu" position, and you have no idea what I'm talking about, and I'm typing very fast, attempting to stretch my fingers out and I'm getting angry.

Do any of you know how to play? I have to go to my lesson soon, and hey, this guy is teaching me a lot, but just once a week for a half-hour isn't getting me far. If anyone has been playing guitar (not just picking up their older brother's and strumming), dear God, help me out. I'm getting really disappointed in myself.

Now, off to find Enema Of The State so Manak can help me get the stupid verse right.
