January 1, 2003.

A new year begins, and we still haven’t gotten unpacked from our last move back in August. I sill have a few boxes from when I moved out of the dorms back in 2001. The year is off to a running start, in a way. My sister is in the hospital giving birth, it’s expected that she will give birth tomorrow. As of now, she will likely be named Cady. It will be my first niece, so I get to be a new Uncle. Yeah. I am so enthralled.

Elsewhere in the start of the year, some jerk was using BOTH laundry machines at the same time, and was taking his time to get to them. So yet again I couldn’t do my laundry today.

On the lighter side, I start work on the 17th, and I get my financial aid check Monday, so after I remove 300 for my February rent, and 100 for bills, and then another $450 to pay off my van that was in the accident, I get to buy another car. If I can afford it, of course. I was supposed to borrow my mom’s car, but she lost her copy of the Title, insurance papers, and registration. I told her I’d rather not get arrested for her stupidity, in slightly different words though.

We tried a white zinfandel wine last night, got it for $4.99 over at Farmer Jack. It tasted like crap. But at least the bottle and cork were cool. Smelling the cork reminded us of Rivertown in Paramont's Kings Island. We hope to go there just before the wedding, so we are looking forward to that. Just over 6 months until the wedding.

My sister gave birth today, to a 9 pound, 12-ounce girl. Her Name is Cady Murphy, born a 5:44 AM in Chicago. So now I am officially an uncle. Other than the sudden 3 or 4 inches of snow, it was a rather boring day all in all.

Not much today, managed to have dinner at Chillis. We then went over to Hillers market, the only place in the area that sells Skyline chili. It is hard to find in Michigan, but it taste good I think. Also got some Kool-Aid fruit snacks there, since that is the only place we ever have found them. Rather a slow day in my world I guess. We did start our gift registry on Target today, which was an experience in itself.

January 4, 2003.

Managed to do a load of laundry, except it took an hour to go to the dryer from the wash because a guy was using both dryers, and left his dry clothes in the dryer for at least an hour and a half. (I know this because they were done when I started the wash, and then it was an hour after it was supposed to be done that he came down and got his clothes.)

January 5, 2003.

Tomorrow is the first day of classes,  and I get my financial aid check, so I get to have the fun of saving 300 for next months rent, paying off the old van, and getting another car. Only thing is, Ruthie is taking classes every weekday, so if I get a car I need to get it real close (which means expensive too) or get a ride to somewhere farther away. With luck, my cousin might be able to help some, but I wasn’t the fastest at paying him off last time. With luck, I can start my taxes soon, as soon as I get everything, I can finish them and get some money back from the government. I added some links to the Links page, and I also have a quiz page if you missed it, made up of various quizzes I have come across.
