This is basically a paid service ($29.95/year at the time of writing), but its 7-day free trial is well worth downloading the 9.63MB viewer Keyhole 2 LT. With this viewer, you can easily explore anywhere on earth, panning and zooming with your mouse.
The basic image is Landsat mosaic and, for that matter, its resolution isn't impressive. It is not enhanced with the panchromatic Band 8, thus the maximum resolution is about 30 meters. The color combination is fixed at, apparently, the True Color (RGB=321). However, the ease of panning and zooming largely facilitates your satellite exploration in unfamiliar areas, after which you can obtain and process full Landsat image files for detailed observation.
For some major cities or publicized areas, they provide QuickBird images and this is what makes the Keyhole a valuable resource for satellite explorers. Their QuickBird images are, supposedly, panchromatic-enhanced multispectral and the maximum resolution is 0.61 meters.
For Thailand, at the time of writing, they provide QuickBird images for Chiangmai, Samut Prakan and a section of Phuket, as sample-captured below.
They recommend at least 128 kbps internet connection for downloading the image data, but 56 kbps modem connection will do, if with some patience. During the trial period, the text "TRIAL MODE" appears on the screen. http://www.keyhole.com
